Triumph Plans To Start 2020 With A Bang!

Will be the first BS6 compliant bike from Triumph in India

2020 seems to start on a good note for Indian bikers as Triumph will launch the new Street Triple RS in January 2020. The 2020 Street Triple RS is likely to be brought as a CBU from Thailand and is expected to be priced around Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom), while the current edition retails for Rs 11.13 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Street Triple RS for us is among the best bikes out there and as part of the update Triumph engineers have given it subtle cosmetic tweaks, mechanical overhaul and a host of new features.

Biggest update on the new bike is the Euro-5 compliant triple-cylinder engine from the new Daytona that churns out 123PS and 73Nm of torque. You can read in detail about the changes to the powerplant here. The 2020 Triumph Street Triple RS now receives a bi-directional quickshifter as standard, while the rider modes have been tweaked for better performance and the TFT dash now gets MyTriumph connectivity system.

Underpinnings remain identical to the older bike, which honestly isn’t a bad thing, but the new bike runs on grippier Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP v3 tyres. On the cosmetic front, the bug-eye headlights are now sharper with LED lighting and DRLs. Also, the side panels, rear unit, seat cowl and flyscreen have been subtly redesigned.

We have ridden the new Street Triple RS and the review story will soon go live on ZigWheels so make sure to keep an eye out for it. Once launched, the 2020 Triumph Street Triple RS will compete against the Yamaha MT-09, KTM 790 Duke and the Ducati Monster 821.
