2023 Triumph Street Triple Range To Launch This Week

Delays attributed to Bajaj taking over the operations of the British marque in India

India has been patiently waiting for Triumph to launch the 2023 Street Triple range here for a long time. But after months of delay, and even a skipped launch date, the British manufacturer has revealed that the Street Triple range will finally be launched on June 16. This news comes after the manufacturer announced the commencement of pre-bookings for it back in December 2022.

Triumph is bringing the Street Triple R and RS variants to India (though not the Moto2 Edition model), and both of them have received significant changes over their predecessors. They’re powered by a 765cc three-cylinder liquid-cooled engine producing 130PS in the RS variant and 120PS in the R variant, and 80Nm on both variants. It comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch and bi-directional quickshifter on both variants.

On the RS, suspension duties are carried out by a fully adjustable 41mm Showa Big Piston fork and Ohlins STX40 monoshock. A big upgrade in the braking department of the trim comes in the form of Brembo Stylema calipers, which are a marked improvement over the old M50 units. No changes to the hardware on offer on the R version from previous iterations: Showa adjustable suspension at both ends and Brembo M4.32 front monobloc calipers. 

The Street Triple R gets four riding modes –  Road, Rain, Sport and Rider configurable – while the RS variant gets an extra Track riding mode. Both get cornering ABS and traction control. The RS variant gets a 5-inch TFT instrument cluster while the R variant gets an LCD display.
