TVS Jupiter 125 Bike Latest Updates

The TVS Jupiter 125 marks TVS Motors' second venture into the 125cc scooter market in India, following the NTorq 125. While the NTorq caters to the performance-oriented youth, the Jupiter 125 casts a broader net, aiming to appeal to a diverse audience. This scooter has earned its stripes as a comfortable, fuel-efficient, and incredibly practical choice. Here's our firsthand experience with it.

TVS Jupiter 125 Engine

At the heart of the Jupiter 125 lies a potent 124.8cc fuel-injected two-valve engine, packing a punch with 8.3PS and 10.5Nm. Our mileage tests reveal impressive figures, with 57.27kmpl in the city and 52.91kmpl on the highway. The engine is nestled within a new frame, supported by a telescopic fork and a three-step preload-adjustable gas-charged monoshock setup. This chassis design relocates the 5.1-liter fuel tank beneath the floorboard, making room for a spacious under-seat storage area capable of accommodating two helmets. Riding on 12-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels (on the top-spec variant) with 90-section tubeless tyres, the Jupiter 125 ensures solid grip, complemented by a 220mm front disc brake (130mm drum available as an alternative) and a 130mm rear drum brake. Slightly heftier at 109kg compared to its 110cc counterpart, this scooter carries itself with confidence.

TVS Jupiter 125 Variants

The TVS Jupiter 125 offers three distinct variants, each catering to different preferences: the Drum variant priced at Rs 83,855, the Drum-Alloy variant at Rs 86,405, and the Disc Brake variant at Rs 90,655, all ex-showroom in Delhi. The base variant comes with practical steel wheels, while the mid-spec version showcases stylish alloy wheels. The range-topping version boasts a front disc brake, enhancing both performance and aesthetics.

TVS Jupiter 125 Design

In terms of design, the TVS Jupiter 125 maintains a familial resemblance to its smaller sibling, albeit with a more robust appearance. It strikes a balance between subtlety and distinction, featuring LED DRLs and chrome accents that set it apart from its 110cc counterpart. The scooter also incorporates an LED taillight with a body-colored grab rail, exuding a premium aura. Colour options include Titanium Grey and Pristine White for the Drum variant, with the Drum-Alloy variant adding Indiblue, and the top-spec Disc variant introducing Dawn Orange.

Key Features of TVS Jupiter 125

The Jupiter 125 boasts a suite of features, including LED headlight, tail lamp, and DRLs, while the indicators employ halogen bulbs. The informative semi-digital instrument console provides essential data such as mileage, fuel level, distance-to-empty, and an Eco/Power indicator. Although Bluetooth connectivity is currently absent, TVS has expressed its willingness to introduce this feature if market demand arises. Elevating practicality, the Jupiter 125 incorporates a front fuel-filler cap, an industry-leading 33-litre under-seat storage, a two-litre front cubby space with USB charging, and a multi-function key. The scooter also benefits from a silent starter (iTouchStart) and an idling-stop-start system, contributing to enhanced fuel efficiency, as per TVS' claims.

TVS Jupiter 125 Competitors

In the competitive landscape, the Jupiter 125 goes head-to-head with formidable rivals like the Honda Activa 125 and Suzuki Access 125. Within a similar price range, prospective buyers can explore alternatives like the Hero Destini 125, Hero Maestro Edge 125, Hero Splendor iSmart, Yamaha Fascino 125, and even the sporty NTorq 125, ensuring a wide array of choices in the 125cc scooter segment.
