Expert's Opinion on Bonneville Bobber
- The Triumph Bonneville Bobber is one of the most popular models of the British manufacturer
- With a classic Bobber design, the bike looks absolutely stunning, has ample amounts of power with loads of torque
- It is a well-engineered motorcycle which ticks all the right boxes and makes for a great bike for your weekend getaway
- The Triumph Bonneville Bobber has a beautiful, minimalistic design
- The floating saddle and the gater fork gives the bike a butch stance
- The retro styling of the bike is quite appealing and is quite charming
- The fit and finish quality is top-notch and truly feels premium
- The bike accelerates quite briskly and can do the 0-100kmph sprint in just 4.56 seconds (tested)
- There is a healthy surge of torque which just builds and builds post 3,000rpm and the bike feels at home doing speeds between 110-120kmph
- The tested top-speed of 157.5kmph is more than enough for our Indian roads
- The engine heat is bearable and can manage Indian conditions well
- The disc brake provides very little bit and one has to brake quite a lot earlier than anticipated
- The bike has a long wheelbase which keeps the bike stable while cornering
- It is also quite stable at high speeds
- The bike feels easy to manoeuvre at city speeds despite its long wheelbase
- The bobber feels a bit front-heavy and takes some effort to tip into corners
- While taking a u-turn, the long wheelbase does stand as a hurdle
- The ride quality is stiff, and the bike is better suited for smooth roads
- The stiff ride quality will quite literally shake you up when you go over bad roads
- It feels unsettled on broken roads and you will wish that they end soon
- The seat height is low and riders who are on the shorter side will find it very accessible
- The seat is movable with the help of tools so one can set the riding posture according to their preference
- The riding posture is slightly canted forward, and the seat’s padding is on the firmer side, which means long rides will be uncomfortable
- Gets a single-pod instrument console with an analogue speedometer which looks quite good
- Gets ride modes, switchable traction control and switchable ABS which come in handy
- The large switchgear is easy to use even while wearing gloves
- The Triumph Bonneville Bobber has a gorgeous design and when coupled with the riding experience it offers, there is hardly any motorcycle which comes close to it
- The Bonneville Bobber does everything a bobber can do and more but the stiff ride quality and long wheelbase means that longer rides will be a challenge
- The bike makes up for it with the torque engine and the unique style which is sure to capture your heart
Latest Updates on Bonneville Bobber
Triumph has relaunched the Bonneville Bobber in India but there's one glaring problem: its price. Usually, the British marque gets its pricing strategy bang on but with Bobber, Triumph has priced it significantly higher than its previous iteration. This niche product now costs Rs 11.75 lakh (ex-showroom India), which is close to Rs 1.50 lakh more than the old BS4 Bobber. In fact, it costs the same as the Bonneville Speedmaster now. And for the extra moolah, the only new bits on the Bobber are new colours, a new chunky 16-inch front wheel, a larger fuel tank, and better cycle parts. Here's all the dope on the 2021 Bonnie Bobber.

- Triumph recently launched the BS6 iteration of its achingly gorgeous bobber in the country. At Rs 11.75 lakh (ex-showroom India), the BS6 Bobber costs a whole lakh and a half rupees more than the BS4 version. Its new fatter front tyre, slightly larger fuel tank, and cleaner engine do compensate to an extent. On the other hand, The Iron 883 is the Milwaukee manufacturer’s most affordable bike to not be made in India, and also part of Harley’s sizeable BS6 compliant range. Powering the Iron 883 is an 883cc air-cooled V-twin motor churning out a respectable 68Nm in BS6 compliant form. The Harley-Davidson Iron 883 is for those who want a quintessential Harley serving as a blank canvas with a huge scope for customization. But if you’re looking for an attention-grabbing, well-engineered motorcycle for short breakfast rides and to potter around the cityscape in style, the Bonneville Bobber ticks the right boxes. Moreover, we would suggest you to take a test ride before making the final decision. Follow the link and select your desired city for dealership details.
