Honda’s Best-Selling Commuter Receives A Price Hike

This is the second price revision for the motorcycle in two months
Honda India has hiked the prices of its highest-selling motorcycle in India, the Shine 125. Its drum brake variant now costs Rs 71,550 while the disc brake variant retails for Rs 76,346 (ex-showroom Delhi), an increment of Rs 1,072 for both variants.
We think the hike is pretty nominal by industry standards and shouldn’t really affect the sales numbers.

No aesthetic or mechanical changes have been made to the bike. It continues to offer a no-nonsense package featuring halogen illumination, an analogue instrument cluster, a combined braking system, an engine start-stop switch, and a silent starter system.
The 124cc motor on the Shine puts out 10.7PS and 11Nm, mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
The Honda Shine competes against the TVS Star City Plus, Hero Passion Pro, and the Bajaj Pulsar 125. Even after the hike, it remains fairly priced in comparison to its rivals.
