Expert's Conclusion
The Hero Super Splendor gets a complete revamp and scores on styling, and the Xtec variant also gets a few nifty features. The new fuel-injected motor isn’t very grunty, but is claimed to be more fuel-efficient. The 5-speed gearbox, however, should help the engine breathe easy on highways and the fact that it is an all-new motorcycle, Hero has still managed to keep the pricing in check. You can pick the Super Splendor, if you are looking for an affordable, utilitarian 125cc motorcycle.

Hero Super Splendor Expert Review
The Hero Super Splendor is a slightly more modern-looking sibling of the iconic Splendor Plus and gets a bigger engine as well. It comes with some modern features that don’t make it feel so dated. The Super Splendor is known for its frugal and reliable engine and relatively lower ownership costs.
Design
The Hero Super Splendor has the quintessential Indian commuter bike design but with some modern touches. It has a square-ish headlight with a chrome accent above it, stylish mirrors, alloy wheels, and a stubby exhaust with a chrome heat plate. The seat is quite long, spacious, and comfortable. You get an LED headlight in the XTEC variant, with an all-digital instrument cluster.
Engine
The Hero Super Splendor gets a 124.7cc air-cooled fuel-injected engine that makes 10.7PS and 10.6Nm, and is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. This engine has made a reputation for itself over the years by being robust and frugal, which it still is. At a healthy 55kmpl and a 10-litre fuel tank, it follows the fill it, shut it, forget it philosophy.
Suspension, Brakes, & Other Equipment
The Super Splendor gets a 30mm telescopic fork and a 5-step preload adjustable dual rear shocks, which do a decent job of absorbing bumps and making the ride comfortable even when there are no roads. Braking is handled by a 240mm disc or a 130mm drum (depending on the variant you choose), and a 130mm drum at the rear, which are sufficient enough for it. The 18-inch alloys make the Super Splendor look really good, and are shod with a 80-section tyre at the front and a 100-section tyre at the rear, both tubeless. At 122kg for the drum / 123kg for the front disc variant (both kerb), the Super Splendor is light and easy to handle, which also helps the engine be more frugal. With a 798mm seat height, the Super Splendor is easy to swing a leg on, and that impressive 180mm ground clearance will help you pass through the tallest of speed breakers without any issue.
Features
The Hero Super Splendor comes with a whole bunch of features that make everyday commutes easy. Useful features like a USB charger, analog instrument cluster with a digital inset that shows real time mileage, fuel level, time, and a service reminder. The Super Splendor now even has a side-stand cut-off which will prevent you from riding with the side stand lowered.
Verdict
The Super Splendor has made a name for itself over the years by being a reliable robust motorcycle that needs minimal maintenance. It comes in two variants. One with a front disc brake, which costs Rs 84,748 and the other with a front drum brake that costs Rs 80,848 (both ex-showroom, Delhi). It’s a bike you really can’t go wrong with. It has a decent mileage that won't drain your bank with the current petrol prices. There are enough features to make your life easy on an everyday basis. That 5-speed gearbox is smooth and easy. All of which makes the Super Splendor easy to recommend.
