TVS Apache RTR 160 comes with a 159.7 cc engine which generates 16.8PS/ 14.8Nm and can be reach from zero to 60kmph in 5.04 seconds. It has 3 variants 4V Carburetor Single Disc, 4V Carburetor Dual Disc and 4V Fi Dual Disc. It is packed with telescopic front forks and the rear mono-shock unit. The fuel-injected version of the RTR 160 is brought to a halt by 270mm front and 200mm rear petal discs. On the other hand, the carb version, gets a 130mm drum unit at the rear. However, TVS is offering a rear disc brake as an optional accessory. It has a slightly higher seat height of 800mm and the footpegs are also set quite high. The sitting posture seems a little aggressive and isn’t committed enough to feel like a problem during city commuting or even long distances on the highway, and the seat is quite comfortable too. The claimed mileage of TVS Apache RTR 160 4V is 60kmpl although, our experts has tested its carburetted on road and found that it gives class leading figures of 50.9kmpl in the city and 56.1kmpl on the highway. Things we like: - It has one of the best powerful motors in its segment. - It offers great features like tachometer, odometer, tripmeter, service reminder, lap timer, top speed recorder and a clock. - Apache RTR 160 has impressive build quality. Things which may disappoint: - Its engine is a little vibey and increases with the speed. - Its handling is poor at high speed. The Apache RTR160 offers good performance while being frugal and comes with an affordable price tag. The styling though, is showing its age Click here to know more: https://bit.ly/2cQv9DC

  • Q. What is the mileage of Apache RTR 160 and at what speeds do vibration occurs. Is it ok for family use?

    Arpan | 6 months ago

Mileage is good enough, you will get around 55-57kmpl in highway, and around 46-48kmpl in city. Vibration mainly occur between 50-65km/h. After that when you rev more. then you will be knowing the actual power of your RTR. And vibration disappear a little bit. And yes it is good for family use. May be you are already knowing, that it is a commuter bike.

Definitely bro, i travelled 350 km in one day.bus aapko non stop chalane ke baad rest dena padega bike ko vrna hota yeh hai ki aap non stop chalane ke baad aap jab bhi bike chalaoge to aeisa feel hoga jaise bhadke huye sand ke uper baith gye ho.200km ke baad kmsekam one night or half day ka rest jaroori hai uske baad to bike as always makkhan ki tarah chalegi.kyuki rest nhi doge to bike ki awaaj hi change ho jayegi or rest dene ke baad normal ho jaati hai

  • Q. Can I do 600 km nonstop specify the speed and range for Cruise and do's and don't - Apache RTR 160?
    Venkatesh
    Venkatesh | 5 months ago

Don't do non stop stretch of 600 Kms with a 160cc engine maximum you can do non stop stretch of 150kms by cruising in between 80 to 100. As it is a air cooled engine you should give a minimum of half an hour break after cruising 150kms non stop or else you can choose higher models like RR 310 then you can easily cruise at 120kmph non stop.

Apache is cheap and best beast on which you can rely...I will say there is no problem in long rides handling is perfect ..the only con is dat pilion will not be comfortable for long rides to avoid dat u can alter cushion ..n ya engine produce decent power so u will enjoy ride....the only thing u need to worry is chain sprocket after 4to5 k KM's u have to change I hope this satisfies your questions...atlast m riding Apache since 9yrs no issues the engine is still now good I have done each service in time

  • Q. Planning to buy new bike for daily use up to 45km with average road and traffic conditions. Currently using Hero Honda passion 16 yrs old which is best in mileage and performance as well but now I am facing back pain. thus wants to change bike. thinking about Hero HF Dawn as I likes it's look. I am looking bike for riding comfort and bike which will not give back pain. so please suggest accordingly. if HF Dawn's suspension will provide me comfort then I will book the same or else I am thinking about RTR 160, Unicorn 150, Avenger 180, Bajaj V150/125.

Hero HF dawn is very light weight it’s not comfort in breaker and only one sitting position. While apache RTR is heavy and you can change sitting position by sitting strate same time you Lin like racer. It’s very less maintanace bike. Of course it’s price is high but when ever you ride RTR 160 you enjoy the ride and forget all these issue back pain and all that because I am also feeling so and almost every day I am riding 100km in RTR160.
