Splendor Plus XTEC Key Highlights
Price: The Hero Splendor Plus Xtec’s drum brake variant is priced at Rs 79,911 while the disc brake variant costs Rs 83,461. The Xtec 2.0 is priced at Rs 82,911 (both, ex-showroom, Delhi).
Design: The Hero Splendor Plus Xtec retains its famous styling and now comes with blacked-out components. It gets three colour options: Sparkling Beta Blue, Tornado Grey and Pearl White. While the overall styling is still very much like a traditional Splendor, the offset LED DRL makes the bike stand out. That said, not everyone may be a fan of its layout, which is why Hero might have integrated the H-shaped DRL in the new LED headlight unit of the Xtec 2.0. It also comes in three new colours: Matte Grey, Gloss Black and Gloss Red
Features: The Hero Splendor Plus Xtec gets a fully-digital LCD instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity that displays incoming and missed call alerts, message alerts, two trip meters, real time mileage indicator and low fuel indicator. The bike also comes with a handy USB port. It also features side stand alert, side stand engine cutoff and also features a bank angle sensor that cuts off the engine during a fall. The Xtec 2.0 also gets hazard lights additionally.
Engine: The Hero Splendor Plus Xtec is powered by a 97.2cc, single-cylinder engine producing 7.9PS at 8,000rpm and 8.05Nm at 6,000rpm and comes mated to a four-speed gearbox. It gets Hero’s i3S (Idle Stop Start) system and a claimed mileage output of 73kmpl.
Suspension, Brakes & Other Details: The suspension setup on the Splendor Xtec includes a telescopic fork at the front and hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear. Braking duties are taken care of by 130mm drum brakes at both ends on the drum brake variant while the disc brake variant gets a 240mm front disc and 130mm rear drum brake setup. It has a seat height of 785mm, wheelbase of 1,236mm, ground clearance of 165mm, fuel tank capacity of 9.8 litres and a kerb weight of 112kg (113.6kg for the disc brake variant). It rides on 18-inch alloy wheels, wrapped with 80-section tyres on both ends.
