Certain variants even feature cast-alloy wheels and an LED headlight, making the cafe racer look a bit more modern.

Features: The Continental GT comes with clip-on handlebars and a single seat with optional rear cowl. Some variants even feature a blacked-out engine casing and exhaust. The bike is equipped with a twin-pod analogue instrument console with a speedometer and a tachometer, along with a small digital inset to display the odometer, two trip meters, fuel gauge, and service indicator. It comes with an LED headlight (only in the alloy wheel variant), but a halogen tail light and indicators. The alloy wheel variant also comes with rotary switches (on the right and left switchgear) with a USB port on the left. Royal Enfield even offers optional accessories like bar-end mirrors, intake covers, touring seat, flyscreen, roll-top panniers, engine guard and sump guard.

Engine: The Continental GT 650 is powered by a BS6.2-compliant 648cc air-/oil-cooled parallel twin engine which churns out 47.45PS and 52.3Nm. The engine is paired to a six-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch.

It has a ground clearance of 174mm, weighs 214kg (kerb) and comes with a 12.5-litre fuel tank.

Rivals: Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 has no rivals as such, but more affordable cafe racer alternatives would be the Husqvarna Vitpilen 250.

Variants: The Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 comes in six distinctive colour options at different price points, two of which get cast alloy wheels, among other additions. That said, the core mechanicals of the ones with spoke and the alloy wheels are the same.

The Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 represents my love of riding and my quest for independence more than it does just a bike. Its modern, cafe racer-inspired style appeals to my passion of sports design. The exciting 650cc parallel-twin engine is ideal for easily slicing through twisting routes. The Royal Enfield continental gt 650 is priced at an expensive price owing to its supreme quality and functions. It has large wheels and good stability. The brakes are good and firm. The only con is that there is absence of floorboard which is not quite convenient to drive very comfortably. The looks are decent and smart. I have the black colour of this bike. It has a good speed and is easy to navigate.

  • Best ride but average brakes

The best riding experience i have ever done with only Continental gt 650 and this bike is best in segment with the high power but the brakes are not that powerful. It stand out on the road and the riding posture is not too aggressive but the clutch is on the heavier side and it struggles during high speed runs to stop with its weight more than 210 kgs. The Parallel Twin engine is refined and the build quality is very solid but the LED headlight visibility is not good at night.
