Scrambler 800 Key Highlights
Design: The Ducati Scrambler Icon is the cheapest bike in Ducati's lineup. It's the perfect blend of retro and modernity. Minor details like the all-LED Lighting, brushed aluminium side plates on the tank, a stubby muffler and diffused LED indicators add life to the bike. Not to mention its rugged looks thanks to the slightly raised fenders, dual-purpose tyres and blacked out underpinnings. The 2023 Scramblers even offer customisable body panels allowing you to play with a plethora of new colours.
Features: The 2023 Ducati Scrambler will feature a 4.3-inch colour TFT instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity to interact with the Ducati Multimedia System. The system allows you to receive calls and SMS alerts on the go. The bike also gets 10-spoke alloy wheels with dual-purpose tyres and an accessible seat height of 798mm.
Engine: The Scrambler range is powered by a Euro 5/BS6-compliant 803cc air-cooled motor which delivers 74PS and 66Nm. The bike now features more electronic aids including cornering ABS, traction control and two riding modes. The 2023 model rides on 18-inch front and 17-inch rear tyres, wrapped with dual-purpose Pirelli MT 60 RS tyres. Braking hardware comprises a single 330mm disc up front and a single 245mm disc at the rear. A steel trellis frame ties everything together with a 41mm inverted fork and a centrally mounted monoshock, both from Kayaba.
Rivals: In India, the Scrambler Icon competes against the Triumph Scrambler 900, Triumph Street Triple R, and the Kawasaki Z900.
Variants: The 2023 Scrambler range will be available in just three variants: Icon, Nightshift, and Full Throttle. Prices for the 2023 Scramblers are Rs 10.39 lakh for the Icon while the other two trims will cost Rs 12 lakh (all prices ex-showroom India). Currently, prices for the Scrambler 800 Icon Dark (base variant) start at Rs 8.89 lakh. Sadly, the hardcore Desert Sled will cease to exist and the final few units will continue to be sold at Rs 12.09 lakh.
