Yamaha has issued a voluntary recall of 7,757 units of the FZ-S FI Version 3.0 as well as the FZ-FI Version 3.0 manufactured from October 2019 in the country. The recall has been issued over non-fitment of the rear reflector. As per safety norms, the reflector has to be present and the motorcycle gets one just below the tail lamp.

Yamaha will install the part for free at its authorised dealerships, and affected owners will be contacted individually as well. If not, you can access Yamaha’s website and enter your bike’s chassis number to check whether your motorcycle is affected. Since it’s just a reflector, there’s no risk of losing out on performance or dynamics of the motorcycle.

Earlier in November 2019, Yamaha had recalled around 13,300 units of the FZ25 and the Fazer 25. But that one was over a rather serious issue. You can read about it here.

In a related development, the Japanese brand launched the BS6-compliant version of the FZ range in November this year. The new version costs Rs 2,500 more than the BS4 bike. That said, the BS6 motorcycle has gone up on torque but the peak power has reduced. Check out the details here.
