Yamaha has given its highly popular 150cc FZ series a small set of updates for 2021. While these aren’t as incredible and impactful like the ones found on the 2021 TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, they do a decent job of sprucing up the FZ. Before we reveal all the updates, you might want to know how much extra you’ll have to shell out now:

Yamaha has managed to shed 2kg from the FZ and FZ-S for 2021. The bikes tip the scales at 135kg, which should only improve its commutering sensibilities. Plus, all motorcycles now get a side-stand engine kill switch feature as standard, something that should have been added in 2020 itself.

Looking at the price updates, you might be wondering why the hike is more for the regular colours. That’s because now, even the standard colours come fitted with the Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X bluetooth module that debuted on the FZ-S Fi Dark Knight edition. While it was an optional fitment on the Vintage edition earlier, it is now a standard feature across the board.
There are no further changes to report here, considering the 149cc single-cylinder engine still makes a measly 12.4PS and 13.6Nm.
That being said, the Yamaha FZ continues to be one of the most affordable bikes in this segment. Only the single-disc variant of the Hero Xtreme 160R comes close to the FZ in terms of pricing -- the Hero naked retails at a premium of Rs 200 over the Yamaha.
