No change in performance but it might get some subtle tech updates
Yamaha has launched the updated FZ-X and FZ-S FI V4, head here for more details. The 2023 iteration of the Yamaha R15 V4, R15M and MT-15 V2 have been launched with new features as well.
Yamaha is readying its BS6.2-compliant bikes, with the first one of them being the popular MT-15 V2. This sport naked received a big makeover last year; and with the addition of the necessary bits for the upcoming emission norms, Yamaha is trying to ensure there’s a very little waiting period for the buyers.
Primarily, the BS6.2 norms kick into effect from April 1, 2023, and each two-wheeler manufacturer will have to gear up for the same. While not much of a change is required in the engine department, the OBD sensor (short for Onboard Diagnostic) will unlock a lot more parameters for the owners to keep a track of.
Hence, the RTO document shows no change in power from the 155cc VVA-equipped single: 18.4PS at 10,000rpm. Also, there’s no change in kerb weight or any other spec.
Honda’s Activa 6G H-Smart became the first Indian two-wheeler to meet the upcoming BS6.2 norms, as the much-loved scooter went on sale for a premium of around Rs 3,000 over the Deluxe trim. Expect a similar premium for the MT-15 update.
