The KTM 250 Adventure comes with a more sophisticated inverted front fork, whereas the Suzuki V-Strom 250 uses a cost-effective telescopic unit. It also uses a more advanced radial caliper which should offer better braking performance, at least theoretically, compared to the axial one. Both bikes get dual-channel ABS as standard, but the one in the 250 Adventure has off-road mode that deactivates the rear ABS for some sideways fun. On the other hand, the slightly fatter rear rubber in the Suzuki V-Strom 250 should instil better cornering confidence.

The Suzuki V-Strom 250’s light kerb weight coupled with the low seat height should make it an accessible motorcycle for shorter riders. It even gets an optional low seat that further reduces the seat height by 25mm, at 810mm.
As far as features are concerned, the Suzuki V-Strom SX gets a digital instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation, apart from call/SMS access, last parked location, ETA updates, and more. For extra practicality, the bike also comes with a USB charging port, and a tail rack for luggage. On the other hand, the KTM 250 Adventure’s LCD instrument cluster does not have smartphone connectivity or turn-by-turn navigation. It also uses an all-LED lighting system, whereas the V-Strom’s indicators alone are bulb.

If you’re looking for an accessible, feature-rich ADV, then the Suzuki V-Strom SX makes sense. Moreover, it is fairly affordable compared to the KTM. However, those who are willing to overlook some of the lack of features but are keen on outright performance, then the KTM 250 Adventure is the one to go for. However, the premium is a bit much, and we wish KTM had thrown in smartphone connectivity as well.
