Katana Key Highlights

Price: Suzuki Katana comes in a single variant, which is priced at Rs 13,61,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). It is available in two colourways.

Design: Suzuki Katana comes with 1980s Katana-inspired, sharp yet elegant looking bodywork. At its front, the DRLs are located on the tank extensions, and its shape is similar to the tip of a Katana sword. The golden USD front fork and colour-coordinated alloys further accentuate its premium quotient. Compared to the original Katana, the handlebars on the current Katana are set more upright, along with modern-looking mirrors. The stubby tail section with contoured seat complements the fat rear tyre. That said, the tyre hugger-integrated number plate holder could’ve been sleeker. Adding to the bike’s sportiness is the short, blade-shaped blacked-out exhaust.

Features: In its latest iteration, the Katana packs an all-LED illumination and a fully-LCD instrument console. This display is brightness-adjustable, and comes in both day and night viewing modes. It shows readouts such as speed, engine RPM, gear position, fuel level, temperature, SDMS modes (Suzuki Drive Mode Selector), traction control/ABS prompt and a clock, along with other telltales. The bike has 3 ride modes (aka SDMS): A, B and C, and 5 levels of traction control.

Engine: Powering the Suzuki Katana is a liquid-cooled, 999cc, in-line four-cylinder engine, which produces 152PS and 106Nm. It is linked to a 6-speed gearbox enhanced by a slip-and-assist clutch and bidirectional quickshifter. Suspension duties are handled by a KYB USD front fork and a link-type monoshock at the rear, both fully-adjustable. Braking is looked after via 310mm dual-disc with Brembo callipers up front and 240mm disc with Nissin callipers at the rear. The bike rolls on 17 inch alloy wheels, which are wrapped in 120-section front and 190-section rear tubeless tyres. The bike weighs 217kg (kerb) and has a ground clearance of 140mm, along with 825mm seat height. It comes with a 12-litre fuel tank.

Rivals: The Suzuki Katana goes up against the likes of the Ducati Monster, Kawasaki Z900 and the upcoming Triumph Street Triple 765 RS.

Variants: Suzuki Katana is available in a single variant, with two colour options: Metallic Mystic Silver and Metallic Stellar Blue.

This bike engine and performance are excellent and offers a liquid cooled, inline four cylinder engine. It provides front USD suspension that is completely adjustable however, it comes at a premium cost and requires considerable upkeep. Its service reach is likewise limited however, the 1000cc engine performs superbly. An iconic Suzuki Katana exudes a distinct and great style and this bike has a really striking and stylish design. This bike has bold, large, and gorgeous dimensions and the brakes and tyres are excellent with the starting price is around 13,600,000.

The Suzuki Katana is a well-known bike that combines retro styling and modern performance with its 999cc engine delivers good acceleration and power and the bike has striking design and look that attracts attention. With its easy riding position and handling it offers an enjoyable riding experience but the primary disadvantage of the car is its limited passenger capacity, which includes a single seat configuration that would not be ideal for two up travel. However, riders seeking a combination of contemporary performance and classic elegance continue to choose the Suzuki Katana.

Zippy and nimble Honda Dio for exploring urban environment. Its snappy engine is good for picking around town. Besides, the lightweight and compact design promotes maneuverability as the under-seat storage provides extra functionality. Dio’s is modern, with its straight cuts and striking colours that reach out to a youth market. On the other hand, there are some riders who may prefer extra under-seat storage area, and the ride tends to get a little stiff while travelling over bumpy surfaces. All these factors notwithstanding the Honda Dio is still a best option among many people who want an economical urban scooter.
