Triumph Bonneville Bobber Launched At Rs 9.09 lakh

It has the go to match the show

Triumph Bonneville Bobber launch

Triumph Motorcycles India has launched the new Bonneville Bobber with prices starting from Rs 9.09 lakh ex-showroom Delhi. The Bobber was first unveiled at the EICMA motorcycle show last year. It will be the latest addition to the Bonneville lineup after the launch of the Bonneville T100 late last year. As the name suggests, the new motorcycle is based on the classic bobber-style motorcycles that gained popularity in America in the 20th century. True to the Bobber tradition the bike has been stripped down to its bare basics body panels in a bid to reduce as much weight as possible and increase performance. The new Bonneville Bobber is based on the Bonneville T120.

A chopped front fender, chopped and shorty exhaust mufflers, saddle seat, and single rear shock all point towards weight reduction. The biggest difference on the new motorcycle is that it features an all-new frame to accommodate the floating saddle. Although it looks like a hardtail, the monoshock unit is neatly tucked away under the seat. The saddle is adjustable and even the single-pod instrument console can be tilted forwards or backwards.

The bike is powered by the same 1,200cc parallel-twin high torque engine as seen on the Bonneville T120.  Triumph engineers have retuned the engine to suit the bobber characteristic of the motorcycle. The liquid-cooled mill delivers 77PS at 6100rpm of power and 106Nm of torque at 4000rpm. The power is down by 3PS but the torque gets a marginal increase of 1Nm. In terms of electronics, the Bonneville Bobber is equipped with ABS, ride-by-wire, traction control and torque-assist clutch. It also comes with two riding modes – road and wet.

The Bobber is a great mix of retro styling and modern technology. Where the Bonneville lineup comes across as rather understated, the Bobber by contrast is quite flamboyant and quite a head turner. Priced at Rs 9.09 lakh ex-showroom Delhi and it rivals the likes of the Moto Guzzi V9 Bobber, which carries a premium price tag of Rs 13.9 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune) and the Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight which retails for Rs 9.65lakh ex-showroom Delhi. The old school Bobber and quarter mile kit have been priced at Rs 1.5 lakh extra.
