Triumph Bonneville Bobber India Launch Tomorrow

Triumph Motorcycles India will launch the new Bonneville Bobber in our two-wheeler market tomorrow. The new motorcycle was first unveiled at the EICMA motorcycle show last year and will be the latest addition to the Bonneville range after the Bonneville T100 that was launched in late 2016. As the name suggests, the new motorcycle is based on the classic bobber-styled motorcycles that were hugely popular in America. True to the Bobber tradition the bike has been stripped down to reduce weight and increase performance. The new Bonneville Bobber is based on the Bonneville T120. 

A chopped front fender, chopped and shorty exhaust mufflers, saddle seat, and single rear shock all point towards weight reduction. The biggest difference on the new motorcycle is that it features an all-new frame to accommodate the floating saddle. Although it looks like a hardtail, the monoshock unit has been neatly tucked under the seat. The saddle is adjustable and even the single-pod instrument console can be tilted forward or backward.

The bike is powered by the same 1,200cc parallel-twin engine as seen on the Bonneville T120.  Triumph engineers have tuned the engine to offer higher torque to suit the bobber characteristic of the motorcycle. The liquid-cooled mill delivers 77PS at 6100rpm of power and 106Nm of torque at 4000rpm. In terms of electronics, the Bonneville Bobber is equipped with ABS, ride-by-wire, traction control and torque-assist clutch. It also comes with two riding modes – road and wet. The new Triumph Bonneville Bobber is likely to be priced around Rs 9.5 lakh, ex-showroom, and it will rival the Moto Guzzi V9 Bobber, which carries a premium price tag of Rs 13.9 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune).
