The sidecar variant was unveiled at the Austrian brand’s 120th birthday celebrations

Sholay is undoubtedly one of the most famous Bollywood movies ever and the iconic scene featuring Jai-Veeru riding around on a motorcycle with a sidecar is equally famous. If Sholay were to be re-made today, it’s safe to picture Jai-Veeru on a Royal Enfield equipped with a sidecar, and what better bike than the latest Interceptor 650. Having a hard time painting the picture? Well, Congenia Motorcycles from Austria has combined an elegant sidecar with the Interceptor 650.

Manufactured in the Watsonian Squire factory, this sidecar project celebrates Congenia Motorcycle’s 120th birthday. The Austrian brand is famous for its Ural motorcycles which it retails across Europe.

While no changes have been made to the Interceptor 650, let us tell you about the sidecar. It is torpedo shaped with a gloss black paint scheme and complementing the 650’s wheels, the sidecar also gets spoke wheels. Additionally, it gets a short visor for wind protection. The company claims it is easy to move around and handle.

Congenia Motorcycles has priced the whole package (including the motorcycle) at a whopping 15,900 Euros (Rs 13.8 lakh), almost Rs 10 lakh more than the standard motorcycle in India. While this would never make its way to India, Jai-Veeru could easily get one for themselves with the profits from Sholay.
