Pros and Cons of Scram 411
- Distinctive styling
- Comfy ergonomics
- Good off-roader
- More easygoing for newbie riders going off-road
- Braking could have been better
- Clutch is on the heavier side
- Lacks switchable ABS which is a little disappointing for off-roading
- Fit and finish not up to the mark
The Royal Enfield Scram 411 is capable of doing 95 percent of what the Himalayan already does. Its lighter steering, easygoing ergonomics and firmer suspension makes it a more enticing package for newbie riders than a full-blown ADV. It’s a bummer that it lacks switchable ABS.

A Good, Affordable Scrambler
- The Royal Enfield Scram 411 is based on the older Himalayan 411’s platform and is quite a good bike for someone looking to get into a bit of off-roading on the weekends. The funky colour schemes and the retro looks make it look quite appealing as well.
-
Good Retro Vibes
- The Scram 411 looks very similar to the older Himalayan 411 which always had a simple yet good-looking design
- The simplistic retro design along with the round headlight and the striking colour options give the bike a very good road presence
- Build quality needed to better though; the panel gaps, exposed wiring and the poor quality of welds takes away some of the charm of the bike
-
Tractable, Tractable And Tractable!
- The motor is very tractable and can chug along at low speeds in a higher gear making riding in the city a very easy affair
- The great low and mid-range makes the bike a good highway cruiser as well. It can handle speeds of 90-100kmph quite easily
- The gearbox is very clunky making it difficult to do smooth gearshifts. Also, finding neutral is very hard as well
- At stop and go traffic, engine heat can be felt at the legs. It’s not that bothersome but could’ve been avoided
-
Surprisingly Agile
- Despite the 185kg kerb weight (without fuel), the bike feel very agile on the mountain twisties as well as the city
- The steering is surprisingly light, which makes it easy to move in and out of city traffic
- The brakes don’t offer very good stopping power and feedback from the lever is also not great
- As a scrambler, it should’ve gotten switchable ABS so that expert riders can use the full potential of the bike while off-roading
-
Steady Handler
- The suspension setup works decently on smooth road surfaces as well as on the trails
- The bike remain quite steady even when pushed hard, making it a very good urban cruiser
- Bad road conditions can be felt though when ridden over bumps and potholes at fast speeds
-
Ergonomically Comfy
- The easy to reach handlebar, mid-set footpegs and the overall upright riding stance translate into very comfortable ergonomics
- The seat’s cushioning is very well-balanced; not too firm nor too soft which is perfect for spending long hours on the saddle
-
Decently Equipped
- It gets a semi-digital instrument console with the tripper navigation pod available as an accessory
- For such an affordable sub-450cc scrambler, the features list is just about decent
-
Value For Money
- The Royal Enfield Scram 411 is a very good urban bike with a tractable motor, agile handling capabilities and comfortable riding ergonomics. It is also a very capable highway cruiser and can handle off-road sections and trails very well. So at prices starting from Rs 2,06,394 (ex-showroom), the Scram 411 can be a good option to consider as an all-rounder bike.
