Must Read Questions & Answers Before Buying Interceptor 650

Q. Should I buy a Interceptor 650 now or will there be a new model in 2022 for the Interceptor 650?
  • If you want a bike now then you may go for the current model. Moreover, as of now, there's no update from the brand's end of when the update will launch for Royal Enfield Interceptor 650. Stay tuned for further updates.Read more -The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 Will Get A New Exhaust For 2022.
  • The only difference is the 2022 is Euro 5 compliant.
Q. Though I am in the waiting period of 90days, so yet to recieve the bike, just wanted to check how much did it cost you to change the seat? While taking the test drive, I did felt the seat to be hard as well for longer rides.?
  • For the prices of the touring seat, we'd suggest you to connect with the nearest authorized service center. Click on the link and select your desired city for service centers.
Q. What will happen if I use 10w 50 engine oil instead of 15 w 50?
  • The recommended engine oil grade for the RE Interceptor 650 is 10W50 API SL (or higher), JASO MA2, Synthetic. We would suggest you to go with the recommended oil grade for apt performance.
  • Why change? The designers and engineers know more about the needs of the engine and transmission than we do.

Q. Is Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 good for adventure touring?
  • The Interceptor 650 can be used for adventure touring except for the following conditions:1.Being a tube type tyre a correct tyre pressure is very important to prevent a puncture.2.The tyres are not suitable for muddy roads because it meanders in mud and what if the bike falls it is impossible to push the bike through the mud.3.Keep the battery in best charged condition always as it doesn't have a kick starter.Hope this helps! Happy riding!
  • Himalayan is best for touring because of excellent suspension setup & Brakes. . INT 650 has a weak front suspension & worst Rear Brake which acts like drum brake not ABS (Un-trustable rear brake). Plus it cannot handle very rough roads . Priority pillion rider cannot be accommodated for touring. INT 650 has a powerful engine & Gearbox mounted Retro looking in a inferior quality components filled bike. It will thrill you in short bursts & Rides in good roads.
  • Nope. Its a pure street bike with limited travel suspensions. You may want to consider something like the Triumph Tiger. The upcoming KTM 390 Adventure will also be a good option if you are looking for something slightly cheaper.

Q. I want to change the tires of my Interceptor to wider tires. What specs can you recommend front and rear?
  • Upto 150mm width in 18 inch will fit on interceptor stock rim. you may change tube also to suit, but it is not mandatory.scorpion trail and phantom sports comp are available in 150. both cost around 16k
  • I think 140/18 may be suitable for the rear rim of interceptor 650. i think we can fit the tyre easily on alloy wheels as i am not sure about the spokes wheel type. i have done it on my pulsar 220 long back
  • While coming to customize the vehicle mileage is not a thing!!!!!! S****d

Q. Is Interceptor 650 comfortable for long drive?
  • Yes the Interceptor 650 is comfortable for a long ride.Except if you ride for a long distance touring install a touring seat.Hope this helps! Happy riding!
  • The seats are too comfortable when we go with pillion rider . Front Foot peg position make little uncomfortable. For long drive singles is recommended because pillion rider thighs will get strained of elevated foot peg.
  • Depending on the length of the ride, I was comfortable for a 108 mile ride on the two lane roads around my house. I'm sure I could have done twice that many, but had an appointment.

    Excellent bike

Excellent bike.I never thought royal enfield will make such powerful bike absolutely game changer for royal enfield. It is the best bike i have driven till date best in every aspects like performance, Braking, Comfort; you can actually drive for long distance with in one stretch, Seat is very comfortable for rider as well as pillion.Best things about bike is engine itself "mind blowing performance" and also slipper clutch is pro for the bike.Worst thing is bike wobble sometimes while driving, Fuel meter will not show the right indication, Main drawback is no tubeless tyre.Over all performance is mind blowing ones you cross the 3k rpm you'll get crazy.Mid range and high end performance is great.I got a mileage about 30-32 km which is high way mileage and 22-27 km in city which is great.Pickup is like you are launching a rocket, Build quality is awesome, Zero vibrations, Features is like basic you will get a trip-a&b and odo, Rpm meter and speedometer along with indications like abs, Fuel pump, Battery, Engine oil which is more than enough for the bike. After sale service is good. The service guy actually listen to the problem i faced and fixed the problem which is great.
