The Mahindra XUV700, after countless spy shots and teasers, has finally been unveiled. The three-row SUV is now more powerful, technologically advanced and feature loaded than its spiritual successor, the XUV500. The XUV700 also marks the debut of Mahindra’s new Twin Peaks logo.

The XUV700 will be available in two broad trims: MX (lower-spec) and Adrenox. The latter will be the posher variant and come with all the niceties including driver assistance features like adaptive cruise control and lane keeping features.

By now, you must have come to know how the XUV700 looks thanks to countless spy shots and teasers. But here’s a quick recap. The front-end features a sleeker version of Mahindra’s slatted grille and LED headlamps with funky C-shaped DRLs featuring sequential turn indicators. In profile, the SUV sits on 10-spoke dual-tone alloy wheels. It also gets flush-fitting door handles and a familiar XUV500-like kink above the rear wheel arches. Topping up the design is the arrow-shaped wraparound LED tail lamps.

Step inside and the XUV700 features Mercedes-like twin 10.25-inch screens comprising the digital driver’s display and infotainment system. The latter can be operated via touch inputs or a swivel wheel a la BMWs. Also, these displays are powered by Mahindra’s new AdrenoX UI. Other design touches include a new flat-bottom steering wheel and a beige finish on the dashboard.

The SUV can be had either a 5-seater or a 7-seater with bench seats for middle row occupants.

Mahindra has also crammed the SUV with plenty of features. Some noteworthy ones include Alexa AI connected car technology (first made-in-India vehicle to feature it), a 12-speaker Sony 3D sound system with subwoofer and amplifier, high beam assist, personalised voice safety alerts, and a driver fatigue monitor.

Other notable creature comforts include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control with air filter, adaptive cruise control, panoramic sunroof, powered driver’s seat with memory, and keyless entry with push button start. Passenger safety is taken care of by seven airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

Powering the XUV700 is the familiar 2-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engine from the Thar. However, the XUV700 being a more premium offering, both engines are tuned to develop more punch here. They are offered with manual and automatic transmissions, with the diesel engine getting an optional all-wheel drivetrain. It also has three drive modes: Zip, Zam, and Zoom. Take a look at the detailed specifications:
