Hero Bleeds Red With The Xtreme 160R Stealth Edition 2.0
It looks rad but comes at a substantial premium
Hero MotoCorp has launched the Xtreme 160R Stealth Edition 2.0. The new bike now gets new livery, better technology and other changes.
What’s The Price? Who Are Its Rivals?
The Xtreme 160R Stealth Edition 2.0 has been priced at Rs 1,29,738 (ex-showroom Delhi), making it a good Rs 5,932 more expensive than the standard Stealth Edition. It hence rivals the likes of the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Yamaha FZS-FI V3, Suzuki Gixxer and the Bajaj Pulsar N160.
What’s New?
-
The Stealth Edition 2.0 builds on the already existing dark scheme of the sporty commuter and adds in quite a bit of red.
-
It comes draped in a black livery, with red accents on the fork bottoms, monoshock, engine head, pillion footrest hangers and grab rails.
-
It also comes equipped with Hero Connect, allowing you to trace the live location of the bike as well as receive an alert once it crosses a pre-set speed limit. That said, it misses out on turn-by-turn navigation.
-
The bike now also gets knuckle guards and a larger belly pan.
What’s Unchanged?
The Xtreme 160R Stealth Edition 2.0 is still powered by the same 163cc air-cooled motor which produces 15.2PS and 14Nm and is mated to a five-speed gearbox. Underpinnings too, like the telescopic fork, 7-step preload-adjustable monoshock and 17-inch alloys are the same.
ZigSays
While the new Xtreme 160R Stealth Edition 2.0 looks very attention grabbing and gets new tech, it’s hard to justify the Rs 5,932 price hike that it has gotten. Apart from that, while the new colourway does look futuristic, the knuckle guards don’t go too well with the overall silhouette of the bike.
