The future models too are likely to not use the G suffix
While Parle-G still has the G intact in its name, Honda has slightly altered the name of its best-selling two-wheeler Honda Activa 6G. The iconic commuter will now be called just Activa devoid of the 6G tag, but does that mean there are changes made to the beloved scooter and moniker?
Well, no. The Honda Activa will remain the same reliable 110cc scooter as before, although now it just won’t retain the 6G tag. This G business started with the Activa 3G in 2015 and indicated updated versions through the years of the scooter. However, since 3G, the Activa moniker has witnessed only two actual generational changes which, in a way, was misleading, and that could be why Honda has decided to part with the G tag.

As it is quite evident from its sales, Activa is one of the most important names for Honda in India, and a mess up with this moniker is something the brand simply cannot afford. Therefore we believe the upcoming yearly updated Activa models will use the MY (model year) to differentiate themselves from its previous iterations, and as Honda has done so far, will likely equip the scooter with features to justify the price premium that is bound to happen with new versions having to meet even stricter emissions norms.
Moving forward, the Activa moniker will be available in three flavors – standard Activa with the 110cc motor, more premium and powerful Activa 125 and the highly-anticipated Activa Electric. Currently, the prices for the Honda Activa start at Rs 75,347 (ex-showroom Delhi).
