Honda is reportedly working on a new tech-savvy version of the Activa 6G. It sadly will not be called the Activa 7G, but rather be a new variant to bolster the 6G lineup. Here’s a quick summary of all that’s expected to be seen on the upcoming Honda scooter.
You’d think that an old dog cannot learn new tricks. Well, the Activa 6G is all set to prove you wrong this year’s festive season, as it will be getting smartphone connectivity. We also know that the outdated analogue instrument console seen on the current model will be replaced by a fully digital unit. Features like call/SMS alerts and phone battery status would be a given; however, it remains to be seen if Honda also throws in turn-by-turn navigation.

Honda did trademark its proprietary RoadSync connectivity suite in India back in 2021; however, it is unlikely that the Activa 6G could be equipped with this update, which is seen on Honda’s more premium, international offerings like the Forza 350. The H’ness CB350 and CB350RS come equipped with Honda Smartphone Voice Control System (HSVCS); however, as this system works in conjunction with a headset, we do not expect the Activa 6G to get HSVCS, either.
The 110cc scooter segment in India is a competitive space, with the Honda Activa 6G reigning at the top of the sales chart. However, it is quite outdated in many ways when compared to its main rival, the TVS Jupiter, which, incidentally, comes with turn-by-turn navigation in the higher variant. While Honda did launch an H-Smart variant of Activa 6G early this year, the updates seen weren’t significant enough in terms of features.

The addition of a fully digital display with smartphone connectivity will help in finally bringing a modern touch to the Activa 6G. We wish that Honda also throws in a front disc brake as an option while they’re at it. Honda, are you listening?
If the Activa 6G gets a front disc brake and smartphone connectivity, we expect it to command a premium of Rs 6,000 over the H-Smart variant, which currently costs Rs 80,537. For perspective, the TVS Jupiter ZX SmartXonnect variant is priced at Rs 87,123 (both prices ex-showroom Delhi).
The Honda Activa 6G does not need to go up against any 110cc scooter; however, joining the TVS Jupiter is the Hero Pleasure Xtec to challenge the Activa 6G.
