Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 Gets ABS

Bajaj has finally offered ABS as an optional extra on the Pulsar NS 200 which has been priced at Rs 1.09 lakh

Bajaj Auto has silently introduced the Pulsar NS 200 with ABS in India. The fact that the Pulsar NS 200 gets ABS doesn’t really come as a surprise as Bajaj already offers ABS as an option on the Pulsar RS 200. Since the front wheel size for both the Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 and the Pulsar NS 200 is same, it is just a straight lift for Bajaj without making any special modifications to the bike. The ABS unit on the Pulsar NS 200 is a single-channel unit (it only works on the front wheel). The Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 ABS has been priced at Rs 1.09 lakh while the standard model retails for Rs 96,384 (prices are ex-showroom, Mumbai). This means the ABS version carries a premium of Rs 12,616 over the standard model and given the benefits of ABS we will urge buyers to pay the slight premium and buy the ABS variant.

The Pulsar NS 200 was re-introduced by Bajaj earlier this year with few cosmetic updates and new range of dual-tone colours – Graphite Black, Mirage White and Wild Red. It is powered with a 199.9cc engine producing maximum power of 23.5Ps @ 9500rpm and a peak torque of 18.3Nm @ 8000rpm. The perimeter frame, telescopic front forks and monoshock rear suspension have been carried forward from the older bike. The Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 competes against the TVS Apache RTR 200 and the introduction of the ABS variant gives the Bajaj offering an upper hand. TVS is yet to bring the ABS variant despite the fact it had mentioned the same at the time of the Apache’s launch more than a year back.
