EICMA 2022: 2023 Ducati Scrambler Are More Funky And Tech Laden

Three distinct flavours but no Desert Sled, yet!
In the final chapter of Ducati’s World Premiere 2023, the next generation Ducati Scrambler 800s have made their debut. Made to be the most accessible with a massier appeal, the Scrambler name has been a global hit and game changer for the Bolognese bike maker. This next-gen bike is here to up the ante and be more appealing than before.
Packing some funky updates, the Scrambler will be available in three trims - Icon, Full Throttle and Nightsfit. The Icon serves as an all-time classic, the Full Throttle continues to be flat-track inspired and the Nightshift has an unmissable retro cafe racer-esque vibe to it.
The most striking of changes on the 2023 Scramblers are the new aesthetics. Ducati has recognised the importance of customisation and freedom of choice. Hence, the new body panels allow you to go bananas with a plethora of colour options to choose from. Furthermore, you can opt for a base colour and later slap on a ‘cover kit’ to give it a whole new look, kinda like a nice case over your iPhone. Finishing the updated design is a bold new set of LED lighting with a prominent ‘X’ on the headlight.
The new Scrambler has also adopted a fresh round of modern features like a 4.3-inch full colour TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity. In addition to that, on offer are two riding modes (Wet and Road), cornering ABS and traction control to increase rider safety while encouraging spirited riding.
While the 803cc, L-twin engine makes the same power (73PS and 66.2Nm) and most of the underpinnings remain unchanged, Ducati has tinkered around in places to offer a new riding experience. For instance, the rear monoshock is now repositioned centrally and adopting a revised trellis frame, the new Scrambler is almost 4kg lighter than its predecessor. Hopefully, the stiff ride of the previous-gen Scrambler is sorted out now with this tweak.
Being a new-gen bike, Ducati has addressed key areas where the Scrambler name can get its fair share of updates to keep up with modern times. That said, prices of the updated Scramblers are still under wraps and we could expect these in India by mid-2023.
