Multistrada V4 Key Highlights
Price: The Ducati Multistrada V4’s prices start at Rs 22.98 lakh and the V4 S starts Rs 28.64 lakh (ex-showroom).
Design: The Multistrada V4 has a muscular fuel tank, a tall windscreen and a sleek tail section that has been designed to offer a better off-road experience. Its twin-pod LED headlights look quite aggressive and give the bike a sporty look. The long travel suspension too gives the bike a tall stance.
Features: The Ducati Multistrada V4 and the V4 S get a tonne of features like Full LED headlight with DRLs and Ducati Cornering Lights (DCL), a 6.5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, call and music controls, a Bosch Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) for cornering ABS and cornering traction control, four power modes, five riding modes (Sport, Touring, Urban, Wet, and Enduro), cruise control, wheelie control, engine-brake control, a bidirectional quickshifter, and Ducati Brake Light EVO.
Engine: It is powered by a 1158cc V4 Granturismo engine that delivers 170PS and 123.9Nm. It comes paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a bidirectional quickshifter and a slipper clutch. It even has rear cylinder deactivation technology to switch off the rear two cylinders when the bike is idling. Its electronic suite includes a 6-axis IMU, cornering ABS, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC), Ducati Traction Control (DTC) and Vehicle Hold Control (VHC). Ducati's semi-active Skyhook Suspension (DSS) has the ability to auto level itself when it detects more load. The Multistrada V4 uses an aluminium monocoque frame, a 19-inch front wheel and double-sided swingarm that can accommodate both spoke and alloy wheels. The wheelbase is now shorter -- 1,567mm as opposed to 1592mm. It also has more room to play with a higher ground clearance of 220mm. Ducati’s semi-active Skyhook Suspension (DSS) handles suspension duties. The bike weighs in at 215kg (dry), which is 10kg lighter than the Multistrada 1260 Enduro.
Suspension, Brakes & Other Details: The Multistrada V4 uses an aluminium monocoque frame and rolls on a 19-inch front and a 17-inch rear wheel wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tyres. The V4 gets a mechanically adjustable Marzocchi fork and a monoshock. It has 320mm front disc brakes and a 280mm rear disc with dual-channel cornering ABS. The V4 weighs in at 229kg, has a variable seat height ranging from 830mm to 890mm, and has a fuel tank of 22 litres. The V4 S gets a Marzocchi Ducati Skyhook Suspension (DSS) fork and a monoshock, both fully adjustable electronically. It has 330mm dual discs at the front with Brembo Stylema callipers and a 280mm rear disc brake with dual-channel cornering ABS. The V4 S has a variable seat height ranging from 795mm to 860mm, weighs 232kg kerb and gets a 22-litre fuel tank.
Rivals: The Ducati Multistrada V4 directly rivals the BMW R 1300 GS and the Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250. The Ducati is the most powerful motorcycle among its rivals and is costlier than the BMW, but the Harley-Davidson is the most expensive among these.
Variants: There are two variants to choose from, which include the Multistrada V4, and the V4 S.
