The new variant commands a slight premium over the standard variant
Honda has launched the Celebration Edition of its best-selling 125cc bike, the Shine, at Rs 78,878 (ex-showroom Delhi). This makes it Rs 1,500 more expensive than the standard model. Here is all that the commuter gets:
In terms of appearance, the Shine 125 entirely retains the design language of the standard model with the same classy styling elements. The only major difference is that it comes with two new colour schemes: Matte Steel Black Metallic and Matte Sangria Red Metallic.
Both options come with snazzy new gold-coloured graphics front to back. The new edition also features a flashy new gold-coloured Honda logo on the fuel tank with a Celebration edition logo on the tank top and a ‘Shine’ branding (also in gold colour) on the rear body panels.
Apart from that, even the cowl features gold garnish just above the headlight. Finally, to accentuate the elegant appeal of the bike, the Shine 125 gets a new brown seat.

Apart from the cosmetic changes, the commuter remains mechanically unchanged and is powered by the same 123.94cc engine. It produces the same 10.74PS and 11Nm and comes paired to a five-speed gearbox.
In the 125cc commuter segment, the Honda Shine rivals the likes of the Hero Super Splendor and the recently launched Bajaj CT 125X. You can read more about the CT 125X, which is currently India’s most affordable 125cc bike, here.
