Your First Look At The 2023 KTM 390 Duke, Without Camouflage

After the new-gen RCs, seems like even the new-gen Duke’s design language isn’t going to catch everyone’s fancy

(Update: KTM has launched the 2024 390 Duke in India at a fantastic price! More about it in our launch story.)

Just days after we got more information about its console, a spy shot of the India-spec 2023 KTM 390 Duke without any camouflage has surfaced online, giving us a clearer idea of what the Indian bike will look like. And the first word that comes to mind: overkill.

Don’t get us wrong, the bike’s overall stance has become a lot more menacing and we’re here for it. But look closely and you’ll see that the LED headlight that looks futuristic on the current bike has been given a rather ungainly shape on the 2023 model. The previously sleek LED indicators now stick out a bit. The gaping space between the console and the headlight looks weird too.

Quirky looks aside, what’s underneath is what really matters. KTM is speculated to be using a retuned engine with even more performance, but more importantly better refinement and tractability as well. The 2023 KTM 390 Duke also flaunts a new cast aluminium subframe (resembling the one from the 890 Duke) along with the bionic wheels from the updated RC lineup.

Just like the new-gen RC 390, the 390 Duke is likely to demand a substantial price over the current model which retails at Rs 2.97 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). We reckon that the upcoming 390 Duke could be priced around Rs 3.20 lakh, and it could be launched sometime later this year.
