KTM 125 Duke Bike Latest Updates

KTM 125 Duke has been updated with a BS6.2 (OBD-2) compliant engine, making it run greener but also resulting in a price hike. Check out the latest prices here.

KTM 125 Duke is the Austrian bike maker's entry-level naked motorcycle in India. It shares most of its body parts with its elder siblings, giving it a premium appeal.

KTM 125 Duke Price

KTM 125 Duke is offered as one standard variant, with two colourways (Electronic Orange & Ceramic White). It is priced at Rs 1,78,892 (ex-showroom Delhi).

KTM 125 Duke Design

The 125 Duke takes its design cues straight from the KTM 1290 Superduke. It looks pretty similar to the KTM 200 Duke, with a sharp and mass-forward design. It comes with a sharp-looking headlight, with its sleek tail section being complimented by a wide rear tyre. The bike comes with an underbelly exhaust, with a black exhaust tip. Even the belly pan underneath the engine gets a black finish. The bike comes with an exposed chassis, along with a split-seat setup, making it look quite sporty.

Features of KTM 125 Duke

The KTM Duke 125 boasts a fully-digital, LCD instrument console, which shows the usual bits of information such as speed, engine RPM, fuel level, tripmeter/odometer readings, distance to empty, real-time mileage, average speed and a clock. That said, it still misses out on Bluetooth connectivity. It gets a halogen headlight with fang-like LED DRLs above it. The tail lamp and indicators are both LED units. Talking about safety, the 125 Duke comes with a standard single-channel ABS by Bosch.

KTM 125 Duke Engine

KTM 125 Duke is powered by a single-cylinder, 124.7cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, OBD-2 compliant engine, which produces 14.5PS and 12Nm. The engine works in conjunction with a 6-speed transmission and the bike comes with a 13.4 litre fuel tank. The 125 Duke is built on a split-trellis frame, with a bolt-on subframe. Suspension duties are handled by a 43mm inverted fork up front and a 10-step-preload-adjustable rear monoshock (both being WP units). Braking is handled by a 300mm front-disc (with a radial calliper) and a 230mm rear-disc (with floating calliper). The bike rolls on 17 inch alloys, which come wrapped in 110-section (front) and 150-section (rear) tubeless MRF tyres. The 125 Duke comes with 822mm seat height and has a 155mm ground clearance.

KTM 125 Duke Rivals

The KTM 125 Duke does not have any direct competition, however, its closest competitor in terms of price range, would be the Yamaha MT-15 V2.

KTM 125 Duke Variants

KTM 125 Duke comes in a single variant, with two paint schemes. While the Ceramic White variant comes with orange rims and a black-white frame, the Electronic Orange variant gets black alloys, with an orange-black frame.

KTM 125 Duke Pros and Cons

  • 125 Duke Advantages

Comes with sophisticated underpinnings, Quite beginner-friendly, Refined engine

  • 125 Duke Disadvantages

Powerband is quite narrow, Pretty expensive for what it offers, Lacks dual-channel ABS

  • Expert's Conclusion

The KTM 125 Duke is the most affordable naked bike from KTM. It serves as a stepping stone into performance-oriented motorcycling. The only grouse is you may be able to master the motorcycle rather quickly, and the lack of power means you will be left craving for more performance.

  • Most powerful

KTM 125 Duke gives very impressive features and has one of the most powerful engine but is uncomfortable for long rides. It is a feature rich bike and has premium hardware but the ride quality is not so good. It has a very sharp and striking design but the seat height is high and is not good for short riders. It gives fun to ride and gives around 35 to 40 kmpl mileage in real world conditions but the other rivals offers better values. It has a premium hardware and gets an all digital instrument cluster.

  • KTM 125 Duke is an extravagant two wheeler

Known for its practicality and versatility, the KTM 125 Duke is an extravagant two wheeler model that is the best friend of an enthusiastic driver and helps it keep smooth and comfortable on road drives. I think its quite budget-friendly. This scooter relies on great power generation which owes to a better and safer journeys en route. It also provides a good mileage. The price range is absolutely affordable and is totally money worth it. The maintenance is quite good and is very easy to handle. The overall weight of the scooter is not heavy enough to cause a problem while driving around the city hassle-free.
