Pros and Cons

  • Positives
  • Negatives

KTM Duke 390

  • Improved performance means this is the quickest bike in its segment
  • brakes feel sharp and predictable
  • adjustable suspension handles bad road well even in its stock setting
  • lower seat height should make it more accessible to shorter riders
  • feels super light on its feet and agile when changing directions
  • you can barely feel any engine heat
  • even in bumper to bumper traffic and motor has become a lot smoother than before.

KTM RC 390

  • Added engine versatility leads to more excitement; Sharp handling doesn’t scare you silly; Relatively relaxed ergos makes it more accommodating and lends better bike control; Cornering ABS
  • traction control and quickshifter!

KTM Duke 390

  • Some of the panel gaps are a little too pronounced
  • H-rated Metzeler tyres feel a little squiggly when pushing the bike hard and the signature KTM orange colour option looks too garish in this model.

KTM RC 390

  • Design is extremely polarising; Massive price hike compared to its predecessor; Fit and finish levels are sub-par.

Q. Hi, I haven’t owned a bike yet but I am planning to but my first .. I am currently learning how to ride on the pulsar180 .. should I go for the rc 390 or apache 310 or any other one as I really love travelling .. but majorly I would ride in the city and occasionally hit the highway and might even go on long trips as I live in kashmir and the college that I have got in in New Delhi so it would be a bit your so pls suggest me a bike as I can’t reach on a decision .. I like Royal Enfield’s also but there power delivery is even less than the one I am currently owning .. my budget is around 3 lakhs .. pls suggest?
  • We would suggest you go for TVS Apache RR 310. TVS has done an incredible job in ironing out the sore spots of the Apache RR 310 with the BS6 update. It is loaded with tech, making it the most technologically advanced motorcycle in its class. The new prices are quite close to its fiercest rival -- the KTM RC 390. While it may lack the outright performance of the RC 390, the Apache RR 310 BS6 makes up for it by being a well-rounded machine that can do daily duties as well as corner carving or even touring, for that matter. For a better understanding of compatibility and riding comfort, we would suggest you to take a test ride. Follow the link and select your desired city for dealership..Read more:- TVS Apache RR 310 BS6 Road Test Review
Q. Hi, I am looking to upgrade my Suzuki Hayate 110 cc. My Budget is around 3 Lakh, Should I Upgrade to Duke 390 or the Interceptor? or should I look for a lower capacity Motorcycle? My height is 5'5 and I weigh around 67 Kg. Please let me know the best bike for me as most of my rides will be in the city and occasional run on the highway.
  • As per your requirement, we would suggest you go for KTM 390 Duke. 390 Duke with a weight of 163 kg is easy to handle and manoeuvrable. Duke is an excellent choice for daily commutes and occasional highway rides. Its crazy price to performance ratio and the ability to pretty much make every ride exciting is what made it so popular among the masses. Also, you may consider, Royal Enfield Meteor 350. Meteor 350 has a refined engine, easy to ride, confident and practical package sounds just right. Meteor is very much home in the city, dispatching potholes and speed breakers with confidence.350 engine is better both in the city and on the highway, and more refined and practical as well. Moreover, we would suggest you to take a test ride before making the final decision. Follow the link and select your desired city for dealership details.Read more -KTM Duke 390 vs Royal Enfield Interceptor 650.

User Reviews of Comparison

  • KTM RC 390
  • The RC 390 seems amazing and mind-blowing. I hope the design would just grow as it did with the old RC390, and I'm already living the design. Its similarities with its bigger MotoGP siblings. The 2022 RC390 will get new chassis, new wheels, bigger breaks, which saves a whopping 13.5 kg than the previous version. The new RC gets the same state of tuning but gets a bigger airbox which in turn produces more torque. The new design is also more aerodynamic and overall all these factors result in better handling, faster accelerations and a claimed top speed of 11kmph more than the old version. I'm just waiting for its launch in India and book it, Hope it will turn out to be one of my best decisions in life.
