We Got Duked, Now It’s Time For A New Adventure

Unofficial bookings for the KTM 390 Adventure have commenced across select cities in India.

[UPDATEKTM Has Launched The 390 Adventure In India!]

  • The 390 Adventure will be KTM’s first ADV offering in India
  • It will also be the first BS6-compliant KTM to go on sale in our country.
  • The new motorcycle is the most feature-rich, locally built KTM offering to go on sale.

Without a doubt, the KTM 390 Adventure was the highlight of the 2019 EICMA motorcycle show for Indian bikers who have been waiting patiently for an ADV motorcycle from the Austrian brand. And now we have found out that few KTM dealers have started accepting unofficial booking for the new 390 Adventure. Booking amount for the KTM 390 ADV is Rs 10,000 and the first lot of the bikes is expected to be delivered in January, 2020.

In terms of pricing, we expect the 2020 KTM 390 Adventure to command a premium of Rs 50,000 over the KTM 390 Duke and the on-road pricing will be close to Rs 3.50 lakh. This means that the new bike will be the most expensive locally manufactured KTM to ever go on sale in India and will compete against the Kawasaki Versys-X 300 and the BMW G 310 GS

Powering the bike is the same 373cc motor as seen on the 390 Duke. But, the powerplant on the upcoming motorcycle is BS6 compliant and despite this the power and torque figures remain identical, and kudos to KTM engineers for achieving it. It’s also the first bike in its segment to feature traction control and other goodies on the 390 Adventure includes switchable ABS, smartphone connectivity, LED lighting all-around and a TFT screen.

The 390 ADV features adjustable USD fork and a monoshock unit at the rear with 170mm and 177mm travel respectively. It also gets 200mm of ground clearance, but seat height is pretty high at 855mm. The bike rides on 19-inch and 17-inch wheels on either ends and the alloy wheels have been wrapped with  Continental TKC tyres. Fuel tank capacity is also larger at 14.5 litres.
