Maruti Launches Its Most Expensive Offering, The Invicto, From Rs 24.79 Lakh

• Maruti Suzuki Invicto MPV launched from Rs 24.79 lakh. 
• It’s nothing but Maruti’s version of the Toyota Innova Hycross. 
• Offered only with the 2-litre strong-hybrid powertrain and comes in three variants. 
• Gets a Grand Vitara-like grille, tweaked bumpers and dual-tone alloys. 
• Inside, the dashboard is finished in black with champagne-coloured inserts. 
• Notable features include a panoramic sunroof, 10.1-inch touchscreen and ventilated front seats.
• However, it misses out on a JBL sound system, ADAS and ottoman seats for the second row. 

Maruti Suzuki has taken the wraps off its most expensive offering in India, the Invicto. Maruti Invicto Prices have been announced and the premium MPV starts from Rs 24.79 lakh. It’s nothing but a rebadged version of the Toyota Innova Hycross. However, unlike the Hycross, the Invicto is offered only with the strong-hybrid powertrain and three variants.

 This is the first time a Toyota model has been rebadged in India. And as expected from badge shared Maruti / Toyota models, changes are minimal, but quite easily noticeable. 

Up front, the Invicto now gets a Grand Vitara-like front grille with a chrome bar connecting both the headlights, which are revised and get the tri-element DRLs. And just below it is the tweaked front bumper that gives the fascia its unique identity. In profile, the Invicto rolls on dual-tone alloys instead of the Hycross’s monotone units. And while the tail lamps might look familiar, it gets Nexa tri-element insignia. 

Inside, the Invicto’s dashboard layout and design is exactly the same as the Innova Hycross. However, up here, it comes finished in an all-black colour scheme with champagne-coloured inserts instead of the Hycross’s black/brown hue.  But in terms of features,  the Invicto misses out on three crucial ones: JBL sound system, ADAS and powered ottomans for the captain seats in the second row.  

However, it still gets most of the features from the Hycross including a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless phone charger, a panoramic sunroof, digital driver’s display, ventilated front seats and powered front seat with memory settings. And on the safety front, it gets six airbags, electronic stability control, front and rear parking sensors and a 360-degree camera.

The Invicto will be a strong-hybrid offering, featuring the Hycross’s 186PS 2-litre hybrid powertrain, driving the front wheels via an e-CVT. It doesn’t get the Innova’s base-spec 2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. 

The Invicto’s main rival is the Toyota Innova Hycross. It can also be considered as a premium alternative to models such as the Kia Carens, Mahindra Marazzo and Toyota Innova Crysta.
