Though the Invicto is a rebadged Innova Hycross, the Maruti model misses out on few things the Toyota comes packing

The Maruti Suzuki Invicto is nothing but a rebadged version of the Toyota Innova Hycross. And while they may have styling revisions like any other Maruti / Toyota car, the Invicto misses out on few things the Innova Hycross comes packing. And these aren’t just limited to the features of the vehicle. So without further ado, here are 5 things the Innova Hycross comes packing over the Invicto:

ADAS

First and foremost is ADAS that adds a layer of safety. The Hycross’s ADAS suite consists of features such as lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, forward-collision avoidance, blind-spot monitoring and lane departure warning. The Invicto has been skipped with the entire suite and doesn’t get any sort of driver assistance feature.

Ottoman Seats

The higher-spec variants of the Toyota Innova Hycross’s 7-seater variants come with powered ottoman seats for the middle row. Not only are they extremely comfortable, they can even make the second row essentially a bed as seen in the picture above. Considering that the Invicto might attract a handful of chauffeur-driven owners, we feel Maruti should have offered this feature.

Larger 18-inch Alloys

In our opinion, the Hycross’s 18-inch units already look very under tyred in this large MPV. Maruti has gone down a size and offers the Invicto with smaller 17-inch rims, which looks downright puny. On the positive side, these are dual-tone units and add to the premium look of the MPV.

Base 2-litre Petrol Engine

The Invicto is a hybrid-only model and gets the 2-litre petrol engine paired with an electric motor to make a combined output of 186PS and 206Nm. In the Hycross, if you don’t want a hybrid powertrain, Toyota offers you a base-spec 174PS 2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that’s paired with a CVT. We feel Maruti should have offered the entry-level engine, giving buyers more options.

More Variant Options

The Maruti Suzuki Invicto comes in two broad trims: Zeta+ and Alpha+. On the other hand, the Hycross gets six: G-SLF, GX, VX, VX (O), ZX and ZX (O). The first two are limited to the naturally aspirated petrol while the last four are strong-hybrid only. These give buyers additional choice to choose from.
