MG Motor India has commenced deliveries of the Astor, with more than 500 units delivered on the eve of Dhanteras. The compact SUV is offered in a total of five trims and five exterior paint options. But not all shades are offered in every variant and that’s what we’ll be explaining in this report.

The Astor has been sold out for 2021 and the initial lot of 5,000 units have been sold out in minutes after bookings began. Priority bookings are open for 2022, but you might have to wait up to four months (in most metropolitan cities) if you had your eyes set on one.
The Astor gets features like a a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, connected car tech, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a powered driver’s seat, digital driver’s display, and a panoramic sunroof. Passengers are secured by six airbags, front and rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, and electronic stability control.
To ensure the SUV stands out from competitors, MG has thrown in segment-first a personal AI assistant and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Read about its functionality in our first drive review.
The Astor gets an option of a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated and 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine, paired with automatic transmissions. The NA motor can also be paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
