The Yamaha Version S gets keyless ignition and other features
The Yamaha Aerox 155 Version S has been launched at Rs 1,50,600 (ex-showroom Delhi). This makes the Version S variant Rs 3,000 more expensive than the regular variants and Rs 1,500 more expensive than the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition. The new variant will be exclusively sold through Yamaha’s Blue Square showrooms and is available in two colour options: Silver & Racing Blue.
The main talking point about the Version S is the new Smart Key, which is basically a keyless feature. The Smart Key has something Yamaha calls “answer-back capability”, which makes it easier to find the scooter in a crowded environment as the blinkers are activated and a buzzer sound is emitted.
It also supports keyless ignition, through which one can simply rotate the knob to ignition position and push the start button. The Smart Key becomes immobilised when one is far away from the scooter and gets activated when standing near the scooter.
The rest of the scooter has remained unchanged and is powered by a 155cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing 15PS and 13.9Nm. Its primary rival is the Aprilia SXR 160.
