5 New Features That The 2024 New-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift Could Get Over The Existing Swift

This generational update for the Maruti Swift will make the nameplate more premium than before

The new-gen 2024 Maruti Swift is going to arrive in India very soon. We’ve spotted multiple test mules and the hatchback has also been launched in multiple markets abroad, Germany being the latest one. There will be more than just visual changes to set the new and old Swift apart. While you can read about a holistic comparison here, this story will focus on all the new features that it’ll pack over the current model.

Let’s go:

9-inch Touchscreen System

The 2024 Maruti Swift packs a bigger 9-inch infotainment system (likely from the Baleno and Fronx), compared to the current model’s 7-inch touchscreen system. You can expect crisper graphics and better response from this new touchscreen system, and yes, it will get wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

360-degree camera

To up the premium appeal of the Swift, Maruti has equipped its international models with a 360-degree camera. The same is expected to be offered on the India-spec model as well, but probably limited to the higher variants of the Swift.

Connected car tech

Connected car features are becoming increasingly omnipresent and the new-gen Swift will not miss out on this feature. To be accessible via Suzuki’s CONNECT app, this technology will offer features such as live tracking, trip overviews and safety notifications, all at the convenience of a few taps on your smartphone.

Six airbags

The current Maruti Swift is a bit lenient to say the least when it comes to safety features. Even in its top-spec guise, it only offers up to two airbags, but the new-gen Swift will change that. It’ll offer six airbags right from its base variants, along with other electronic aids like ABS with EBD and electronic stability control.

ADAS

The new-gen Maruti Swift gets a range of ADAS features including autonomous braking assist, automatic high beam assist, and more, in markets abroad. Now given the segment that the Swift sits in, ADAS features could be given a miss to keep price in check. That being said, the test mules that were spotted did sport the radar module and blind spot monitoring, so we won’t rule out Maruti offering ADAS with the new Swift in its higher trims.

These new features apart, there’s a lot that’s new on the 2024 Maruti Swift and you can know about all the details in our image gallery article. With all these changes, prices for the Maruti Swift are bound to become dearer. For reference, the current prices range between Rs 5.99 lakh and Rs 9.03 lakh (ex-showroom). It’ll pose as a tougher rival against the likes of the Tata Punch, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, and the Renault Triber.
