Maruti Suzuki Bumps Up Manufacturing At Manesar Plant, Adds 1 Lakh Unit Capacity

With this expansion, the carmaker aims to double its capacity in the next 7-8 years, resulting in lower waiting times for customers

Maruti Suzuki inaugurates a new assembly line at its Manesar manufacturing facility.
The new assembly line added to Plant-A of the carmaker’s facility increases its annual capacity to 9,00,000 vehicles.
The carmaker emphasises that this expansion aims to speed up customer deliveries.
Models like the Breeza, Ertiga, Wagon R, and Ciaz are produced at this plant.

Maruti Suzuki has inaugurated a new vehicle assembly line at its Manesar facility, enhancing its manufacturing capacity by 1,00,000 units annually. This new addition has been made to the existing Plant-A among the three manufacturing plants at Manesar, increasing the total manufacturing capacity to 9,00,000 vehicles per year.

The Manesar facility has played a pivotal role in Maruti Suzuki's production journey, contributing over 95 lakh units to the company's milestone of 3 crore productions. Models such as the Brezza, Ertiga, XL6, Wagon R, Dzire, S-Presso, Ciaz, and Celerio are manufactured at this plant.

Speaking on the occasion, Hisashi Takeuchi, managing director and CEO, Maruti Suzuki India, iterated the company's commitment to the 'Make in India' initiative, adding that the expansion aims to streamline customer service and enhance the overall manufacturing capability to produce up to 23.5 lakh units annually.

We believe that this increase in manufacturing capacity will not only increase Maruti sales but also reduce waiting periods for their popular models like the Swift, Dzire, Wagon R, and Ertiga.
