Bookings for the upcoming new-gen Swift are unofficially open at a few dealerships.
It is expected to be launched in the first half of May.
Features a refreshed design, new cabin layout, and added features like a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Expected to get a new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder engine.
A few Maruti Suzuki dealerships have already started taking unofficial bookings for the new-gen Swift, which is expected to be launched in the first half of May. The Swift, in its new avatar, will get a fresh design and an upgraded interior with added features, making the hatchback feel a lot more upmarket.

The design of the Swift has been made sharper and more aggressive than the current model. It gets refreshed headlights with updated DRLs and a new grille. It also gets sportier looking alloy wheels and the rear doors now have conventional handles replacing the one on the C-pillar, as seen on the current model. It features inverted C-shaped LED signature DRLs and black inserts on the rear bumper, giving it a sportier look.

The interior of the new Swift will get a completely fresh design for the dashboard. It will take inspiration from other Maruti cars such as the Fronx and Baleno. However, we expect it to come with a different colour theme.
In terms of features, the Swift is expected to get a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless phone charger, a head’s-up display, connected car features, automatic climate control and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The safety features on offer will likely include six airbags, front and rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera system.

We expect the 2024 Swift to be powered by the new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine which produces 82 PS and 112 Nm, which could replace the 1.2-litre 4-cylinder petrol K-series dual-jet engine. Like before, it will be available with a 5-speed manual transmission and likely with an AMT, instead of the CVT offered overseas, to keep costs in check.

The price for the upcoming Swift is likely to be revealed in the first half of May. It is expected to carry a premium over the current-gen Swift, which is priced from Rs 5.99 lakh to Rs 9.03 lakh (ex-showroom). It will lock horns with the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Tata Tiago, Renault Triber and Tata Punch in the Indian market.
