What We Hope The BMW G 310 RR Improves Over The Apache RR 310

The new teaser shatters our hope of major design changes, but here’s what we expect the German brand to do

BMW Motorrad India has released another teaser of the new TVS Apache RR 310-based G 310 RR, revealing the new paint schemes. The Bavarian giant could offer its upcoming motorcycle in two paint schemes: one draped in the iconic BMW Motorsport tricolour, and the other could likely be the Triple Black paint scheme we have seen on other offerings. Furthermore, going by the teaser, we may not see any major changes to the design. But here’s what we hope BMW will improve on the new G 310 RR.

Fully adjustable Suspension As Standard

The TVS Apache RR 310 features fully adjustable suspension (a segment-first) as a part of its ‘Dynamic’ package, and sportier clip-on and footpegs as a part of the ‘Race’ package under the Built-To-Order (BTO) programme. If BMW offers these as standard equipment, the G 310 RR will have an edge over the newly launched 2022 KTM RC 390.

Adjustable Levers

TVS skimped out on adjustable levers with the latest iteration of its flagship supersport, and we hope that BMW fixes that by offering span-adjustable levers with the upcoming G 310 RR. The BMW G 310 R and the G 310 GS already come equipped with adjustable levers, so it is only natural that their supersport sibling too comes with them.

A Different Instrument Console

The 5-inch TFT console on the TVS Apache RR 310 is highly informative and packs quite a lot of information. However, we hope that BMW fixes the unconventional vertical layout and offers a traditional horizontal unit. That said, BMW might just use the LCD console from the G 310 R and the G 310 GS to cut down on manufacturing costs.

The BMW G 310 RR is likely to demand a premium of Rs 20,000 premium over the standard TVS Apache RR 310. Even with the expected Rs 2.85 lakh price tag, the G 310 RR will be considerably more affordable that the 2022 KTM RC 390.
