MG Astor Will Come In Five Trims, To Rival Creta, Seltos, And Taigun

A Delhi RTO document has spilled the beans on the Astor’s variants ahead of its launch early next month. The upcoming compact SUV will be available in five trims: Style, Super, Smart, Sharp, and Savvy. If the document is anything to go by, MG will offer automatic transmissions with all trims except for the base-spec Style. Also, it seems like the carmaker won’t offer the top-spec Savvy with a manual transmission.

The Astor will get two petrol engines: 1.5-litre naturally aspirated and a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol. Both can be paired with an automatic transmission, however, only the 1.5-litre motor will come with a 6-speed manual option.

Now, to the features. MG’s compact SUV gets Android Auto and Apple CarPlay (as standard), connected car tech, climate control, wireless phone charging, steering modes, a panoramic sunroof, and a 6-way power-adjustable driver seat. Passenger safety is secured by multiple airbags, parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, hill descent control, and electronic stability control.
The MG Astor will likely be priced from Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival the Skoda Kushaq, VW Taigun, Hyundai Creta, and Kia Seltos.
