MG has confirmed that it will launch the Astor compact SUV on October 11. Its unofficial bookings are underway and in the meantime, you can check out the car at the dealerships.

The Astor will be available in five trims: Style, Super, Smart, Sharp, and Savvy. The SUV will feature LED lighting, a panoramic sunroof, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, powered driver’s seat, and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected car technology and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

MG is also offering the Astor with a personal AI assistant in the shape of a robot-like device that can control many in-car commands, display human emotions, and give information.
For passenger safety, the Astor will be equipped with up to six airbags, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control and hill descent control. It will also feature ADAS (automatic driving assistance system) with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, forward collision warning and blind spot monitoring.

The MG Astor will be offered with 110PS 1.5-litre petrol and 140PS 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engines. While the turbo engine will get a 6-speed automatic transmission as standard, the naturally aspirated motor will come with either a 6-speed manual or CVT options.

We are expecting MG to price the Astor from Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards, competing with the Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, and Hyundai Creta.
