The newly launched 2021 iteration of the Imperiale 400 has a greater degree of localisation

  • The Benelli Imperiale 400 is currently the brand’s most affordable motorcycle in India.
  • Apart from the localisation, the rupee-vs-dollar strengthening has also played a role in bringing the price down.
  • Mechanicals and features have remained unchanged.
  • Benelli India has launched the 2021 Benelli Imperiale 400 starting at Rs 1.89 lakh (ex-showroom India), making it Rs 10,000 more affordable than the 2020 iteration. The brand has managed to bring the price down due to an increase in the localisation of the bike and the strengthening of the Rupee against the Dollar. Take a look at the new pricing:

    2021 BS6 Price

    2020 BS6 Price

    BS4 Price

Benelli Imperiale 400, all ex-showroom India

    Rs 1,89,000

    Rs 1,99,000

    Rs 1,79,500

With the revised pricing, the Imperiale 400 is quite close to the Supernova variant of the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 and the DLX Pro variant of the Honda H’Ness CB350. Hopefully, Benelli is able to draw customers towards the Italian brand with the new pricing.

Other than the pricing, the rest of the bike remains the same as before. The Imperiale 400 is powered by a 374cc single-cylinder air-cooled fuel-injected engine, producing 21PS and 29Nm, linked to a 5-speed transmission. The motorcycle comes with a dual-channel ABS as standard. Other notable features include an all-bulb lighting system and a twin-pod analogue instrument cluster with a digital inset. Recently, the brand launched a limited edition of the Imperiale 400 in Thailand with a bunch of accessories. Expect the add-ons to arrive on our shores too. The Imperiale 400 is the brand’s first BS6-compliant motorcycle in India. It was recently followed by the launch of the Benelli TRK 502. You can read all about the middleweight adventure tourer here.
