Recently Asked User Questions
Q. What is better Classic 350 or Meteor 350?
- Both bikes are good enough. Royal Enfield Classic 350 has the quintessential classic motorcycle styling, fuel injection has improved fuel efficiency, brakes offer much better bite and stopping power. It is far from a perfect bike even in its BS6 avatar. However, in a world where everybody is trying to go retro and neo-retro, it remains the OG retro motorcycle in essence and feel. On the other hand, if we talk about Meteor, the thump wrapped up in a refined, easy to ride, confident and practical package sounds just right. The lack of oil leaks, or missing parts over our 800km stint makes the package more joyous. The healthy fuel efficiency, 10,000km oil-change intervals and 5000km/6 month service inspections make it more endearing. So, this Royal Enfield fulfills the promise made by the Thunderbird many years ago. However, the Meteor doesn’t make a bigger and bolder promise of its own by way of plush ride quality, a greater sense of richness or, crucially, better cruising ability. You may compare both bikes accordingly. Do take a test ride in order to get better clarity. Check out authorised dealership details.

Q. Which is better among jawa 42, RE Meteor and Honda Hness 350?
- Selecting the perfect bike depends on various factors such as your budget, ride quality, drive type, engine performance, features required, etc. Here, Jawa is the only bike here using a short-stroke, performance-oriented engine with a 6-speed transmission. Sure it’s fast, but it lacks the retro laidback charm of an under square engine, something we think is crucial for a buyer in this segment. Whereas, the CB 350 makes the best of both worlds: it’s not only powerful but also makes most of its torque lower down the rev range. All bikes here, except the Jawa, run long-stroke motors, with an even spread of torque throughout the rev range -- so they manage just fine with 5-speed transmissions. While both the CB350 and Meteor sport counterbalanced engines for better refinement, the winner here based on specs alone would have to be the CB350 with its true retro charm and loads of bottom-end torque. Moreover, we would suggest you to take a test ride before making the final decision. Q. I am confused between Meteor 350 and Dominar 250. I am looking for city as well as touring compatible bike.
I'm not looking for High speed cruising (90-110kmph cruising speed will be enough). Also, decent cornering
ability will be enough. Both the bikes will fulfill my requirements. However, I am confused because of new RE
Meteor refined and long stroke engine feel, at the same time looks and features Dominar 250 provide in this
price range. I am currently using Yamaha FZ16 (2013 model), which one would be better upgrade?

- As per your requirements, Dominar 250 would be a better pick. Is is suitable enough for city commutes as well as for highway long rides. Certainly Meteor is refined as compared to other 350 cc Royal Enfield bikes but between these two, it is the Dominar 250 that is properly refined and is butter smooth even when cruising at 100kmph. The ratios of the 6-speed transmission are well spaced for better low-mid-range performance. Keep the tachometer needle hovering between 2000 and 3000rpm, and the bike can move along without any issues. As far as the features are concerned, the bike is loaded with premium bits like an all-LED lighting system, full-digital instrument cluster, and power cruiser-like styling with a comfortable touring-friendly riding position. The instrument cluster isn’t as detailed as its bigger sibling with real-time mileage indicators and such, but it is informative enough to fulfil its basic purpose. If we talk about Meteor 350, This Royal Enfield fulfills the promise made by the Thunderbird many years ago. However, the Meteor doesn’t make a bigger and bolder promise of its own by way of plush ride quality, a greater sense of richness or, crucially, better cruising ability. You may compare both bikes accordingly. Do take a test ride in order to get better clarity. Check out authorised dealership details.
- Thanks for this detailed information. Just one more question: If top end performance is not must, then is dominar 400 better pick than 250? Will 40-50k more money worth for bigger sibling? Considering that 400 is more tried and tested ; 250 is not yet tested at that extend. Those chunky USD forks and 150 section rare tyre makes me crave more for 400 than 250. Although, I am not sure if those are worth 40-50k more (considering that 250cc power is enough for me)?
- If you have zeroed on these two bikes (and they both meet your requirements), then GO for the one which delivers you Quicker.
