Honda has launched the 2020 Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin Adventure Sports BS6 in India. It is a more premium variant of the CRF1100L Africa Twin that replaces the CRF1000L Africa Twin in India. The new motorcycle gets a larger motor, new frame and a host of feature updates. Here's a closer look at the motorcycle via detailed images.
The Africa Twin True Adventure comes in two colours: a metallic black shade and this cool looking one in Honda racing colours of red, blue and white. It will be available in two versions: with a 6-speed manual gearbox and with a DCT automatic gearbox.
The dual LED headlamp setup get cornering lamps which illuminate corners when you turn the handlebar. It also gets a 5-step adjustable windshield.

A big update is the new 6.5-inch TFT colour touchscreen instrument console. It includes Bluetooth connectivity and Apple CarPlay.

The fuel tank capacity is 24.8 litres. Expect a range of around 600km on a tankful on highway runs.
The seat height has gone up from the previous 820mm-840mm setup to 850mm-870mm. To compensate for the increase in height, the seat is now 40mm narrower than before.
Engine capacity has gone up by 86cc. The new 1084cc parallel twin motor has a longer stroke now. It gets new cylinder heads, new valve timing, updated ECU, and a catalytic converter to help it clear Euro 5/BS6 emission norms. The motor now delivers 102PS and 105Nm, an increase of 7PS and 7Nm.
The new Africa Twin gets a six-axis IMU now. Electronic rider aids include Honda Selectable Torque Control, cornering ABS, wheelie control, and rear lift control
It also gets cruise control as standard fitment. A useful feature for touring.
The different modes can be accessed through this busy-looking 5-way control switches. There are a lot of buttons in there!
If that wasn't enough, there are buttons on the top of the switchgear as well. You get a dedicated button to control voice calls.
The 2020 Africa Twin gets a new frame with a bolt-on subframe. It is easier to repair or replace in case you crash it.
The Africa Twin gets Showa 45mm USD fully-adjustable fork with 230mm of wheel travel and preload-and rebound-adjustable monoshock with 220mm of wheel travel.
The more premium Africa Twin Adventure Sports version gets spoked tubeless rims as standard. It gets dual-purpose Metzeler Karoo tubeless tyres.
Braking is via dual 310mm wave discs with Nissin radially-mounted 4-piston calipers and a 256mm wave disc with 2-piston caliper. The dual channel-ABS can be switched off completely as well.
The 2020 CRF1100L Africa Twin is priced at Rs 15.35 lakh (manual variant) and Rs 16.1 lakh for the DCT variant. That's a substantial hike of Rs 1.85 lakh over the CRF1000L Africa Twin DCT variant.  But for that, you do get a lot more goodies and more performance.
