The RE Scram Finally Has A Launch Date!

It will be Royal Enfield’s more affordable alternative to the Himalayan

[UPDATE: The Royal Enfield Scram 411 has been launched in India. For pricing, specs and other details, head to our launch report.]

Royal Enfield has sent out a ‘Block Your Date’ invite for the Scram 411, confirming that the bike will make its debut in the first half of next month. Given that the brochure has been leaked already, and that the bike has already started arriving at dealer yards, it is about time that the affordable alternative to the Himalayan makes its debut.

The Royal Enfield Scram 411 won’t just be an affordable sibling to RE’s ADV, but could also be a friendlier option to live with. With its smaller front wheel, and being lighter than the Himalayan, the bike, in theory, should be peppier.

The RE Scram 411 is likely to be powered by the same long-stroke 411cc air-/oil-cooled engine from the Himalayan, producing an identical 26PS and 32Nm. Braking and suspension hardware too are retained from the ADV sibling.

With the Himalayan now retailing at Rs 2.14 lakh onwards , and the entry of the Yezdi Adventure (Rs 2.10 lakh onwards) and the Scrambler (Rs 2.05 lakh onwards) (all prices ex-showroom Delhi), this move from RE will retain its customers.
