2024 Kawasaki Versys 650 Launched

Kawasaki India has launched the 2024 Kawasaki Versys 650 at an introductory price of Rs 7,77,000 (ex-showroom), which is the same price as the 2023 model. Kawasaki hasn’t brought any major changes to the ADV except for the addition of new colours. The manufacturer had shared the announcement via social media.

The 2024 Versys 650 is now offered in 2 colours, Metallic Matte Dark Grey / Ebony and Metallic Flat Spark Black / Candy Lime Green. The Metallic Matte Dark Grey / Ebony is a new colour scheme that gives the bike a triple tone, black, grey and red finish with the colours being pasted on the headlight cowl, tank extension and tail section.

Whereas the Metallic Flat Spark Black / Candy Lime Green gives a similar design, with a triple tone green, black and grey finish on the front section and the tail, with Kawasaki written on the tank in green.

Other than the addition of the new colours, the Kawasaki Versys 650 hasn’t received any changes in terms of performance and underpinnings. The bike is powered by the same 649cc liquid-cooled parallel twin engine which produces 67PS at 8500rpm and 61Nm at 7000rpm.

The bike is built on a tubular diamond frame and suspended by a 41mm inverted fork with preload and adjustable rebound damping, and an off-set monoshock with preload adjustability. The suspension setup offers 150mm front and 145mm rear wheel travel.

Braking duties are taken care of by twin 300mm petal discs at the front and a single 250mm petal disc at the rear. The bike rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels at the front and rear wrapped around in 120-section front and 160-section rear tube tyres. The ground clearance is 170mm and the kerb weight comes to 219kg.

In terms of features, the Versys 650 gets a 4.3-inch colour TFT display with smartphone connectivity via Kawasaki Rideology app. The instrument console is quite compact and gives essential readouts like speed, gear position, fuel level, trip meter and odometer readouts along with average fuel consumption and remaining range i.e distance-to-empty readouts. Additionally, the bike comes with rider aids such as Kawasaki’s two mode traction control system which adds an extra layer of safety over the dual-channel ABS.

Other features include an adjustable windscreen, the height of which can be adjusted by the rider via a button under the instrument console.

The Kawasaki Versys 650 goes up against ADVs in the 600-700cc segment such as the Triumph Tiger 660.
