The Cat’s Out Of The Bag…Almost!

This Triumph 850 Sport will make its way to India

  • Likely to use Tiger 900’s 888cc engine.
  • Features taller windscreen, road-focused tyres, and long-travel suspension.
  • It will be the most affordable member of the Tiger family
  • Triumph 850 Sport

Triumph Motorcycles is on a roll this year. Shortly after unveiling its most affordable offering, the Trident 660, the House of Hinckley is all set to introduce another motorcycle tomorrow. This time it’s the Tiger 850 Sport, the fourth and the smallest member of the Tiger family. So, what can we expect from the baby Tiger?

Last week, Triumph released a teaser of the upcoming adventure tourer. Details are sparse at the moment, however, the teaser reveals that the bike shares its fascia with the Tiger 900 family, rather than with the Tiger 1050 Sport. The distinctive branding is also visible on the flanks of the fuel tank. Following the traits of the Tiger 1050 Sport, the 850 Sport could feature long-travel suspension, road tyres, a comfortable saddle, and a bigger windscreen.

Going by the Environmental Protection Agency’s leaked document, the 850 Sport will use the same 888cc, inline-triple motor. However, Triumph could have a detuned version of the engine to keep it amateur-friendly.

With Trident's launch slated for March 2021, we expect Triumph to launch the Tiger 850 Sport a month or two later. The bike will lock horns with BMW F 750 GS and the Ducati Multistrada 950.
