Honda Dominates Round Three Of INMRC 2019

Clear race wins, last minute overtakes and one of the fastest lap times, the third round of INMRC 2019 had it all
- Rajiv Sethu bagged his fourth straight win in the ProStock 165cc class.
- KY Ahamed dominated the premier 301-400cc class and took his points tally up to 104.
- IDEMITSU Honda clinched first, second and third positions in the ProStock 201-300cc class.
- Mohd. Mikail chalked the fastest lap time of 1.47.974 and took the title in the Honda NSF250R Talent Cup.
Round three of the Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship (INMRC) 2019 organized by MRF MMSC FMSCI concluded with Honda earning 10 podiums including four wins over the weekend. The Japanese manufacturer also leads in three standings (team, rider and manufacturer) in the ProStock 165cc and ProStock 201-300cc divisions. TVS Racing, on the other hand, put up a great fight in the premier class with KY Ahamed topping the 301-400cc category.
ProStock 165cc National Championship
IDEMITSU Honda fought its way to clinching five podiums and two wins in day one of round three. Interestingly, the riders managed to repeat the same feat on day two and managed to get their tally up to 10 podiums including four wins. Rajiv Sethu bagged his fourth straight win in the ProStock 165cc class after a nail-biting finish which saw him getting the better of K Y Ahamed in the last corner before the finish line. Thanks to this, he currently tops the leaderboard with 100 points which puts him ahead of rival ahead of Jagan Kumar of TVS Racing (94) and teammate Sarath Kumar (93).
ProStock 201-300cc National Championship
Anish Shetty took top honours in Race one and two, followed closely by Abhishek Vasudev in second and Aravind Balakrishnan in third place.
ProStock 301-400cc National Championship
Rahil Shetty (Sparks Racing) slithered between Deepak Ravikumar (2nd) and K Y Ahamed (3rd) in the last lap of race one to clinch top spot on the podium. K Y Ahamed clawed his way back in the second race and dominated it with a comfortable lead over Rahil (2nd) and Deepak Ravikumar (3rd).
One-Make Championship - CBR150R
Honda’s One-Make Championship was equally engaging with nine talent hunt riders battling it out till the end. Race one of round three saw Lal Nunsanga come out on top with Samuel Martin trailing close behind in second and Deepak Kumar in third position.
The roles were reversed in race two where Samuel Martin went toe-to-toe against Lal Nunsanga to snatch first position. Deepak Kumar kept up with the pace of the frontrunners and picked up third position of himself.
IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup - NSF250R
The highlight of the race weekend had to be the Honda India Talent Cup which runs eight NSF250R Moto3-spec bikes. Race one saw 15-year-old Mohd. Mikail get off to a great start and break away with a staggering eight seconds lead over his rivals in a span of 6 laps. Meanwhile, Varoon and Kritik Habib fought for second and third position, ultimately leaving the latter to secure third.

The final race of round three in the NSF250R Talent Cup witnessed Kritik Habib leading the way for five laps with Mikail inching closer with every passing lap. It wasn’t until the very last lap (6th lap) that Mikhail took advantage of a small gap left by Kritik and catapulted himself into first. There was no looking back after that as the lad extended his lead to a total of three seconds and also chalked the fastest lap time of 1.47.974. Kavin Quintal maintained his pace and composure to ensure a safe third spot.
