The Facelifted Electrified Tigor’s Debut Is Just Around The Corner

It will slot below the Nexon EV as Tata’s new entry level EV once it goes on sale in India

Just a few days after Tata Motors teased the facelifted Tigor EV, the carmaker has released another teaser, confirming its debut in India on August 18, 2021. It will be Tata’s new entry-level EV and is likely to launch soon after.

Unlike the current XPres-T EV that’s sold to fleet customers, this one will be offered for private buyers and gets a more powerful electric powertrain. To be specific, it’ll utilise the Nexon EV’s Ziptron powertrain, but possibly detuned to 100PS and juiced up to the same 30.2kWh battery pack. The facelifted Tigor EV could offer a driving range upto 300km on a single charge. Speaking of charging, the electric sedan should be capable of fast charging, with a 0-80 percent charge time of around an hour.

While the EV is still under heavy camo, there are some notable bits such as 14-inch steel wheels with covers that get blue accents, and projector headlamps with LED DRLs. With the design already looking fairly loaded, the cabin could feature a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Harman sound system, automatic climate control,  keyless entry with push-button start, and electrically adjustable ORVMs.

The updated Tigor EV is likely to retail from Rs 10 lakh and Rs 14 lakh. It will go up against the Mahindra e-Verito in the Indian market.
